four weeks after a violent home invasion that left an elderly woman severely beaten, 88-year-old flo douglas has died of her injuries. now, her family is mourning the loss of 'miss flo. kron four's spencer blake explains what her death means for her accused attacker. >> :"this was a heinous crime committed by a heartless individual." >> reporter:the crime is even *more heinous now, almost a month after that statement was made. now, it has become a homicide. 'miss flo' douglas was unable to recover from multiple bone fractures and internal bleeding - injuries prosecutors say she got from 19-year-old zachary cuen. "it was my grandmother. it could be yours, it could be your mother." douglas had been in an intensive care unit ever since september 12th, when deputies say cuen entered her home and violently beat her multiple times, demanded money, and threatened to kill her. the attacker took off in the car from douglas's own garage. cuen was arrested just three days later. before douglas died, cuen already faced several charges, including attempted murder, which will now be upgraded.
