marks behind me. around 2:00 a.m. or after that the corvette lost control, careened into this light pole which had to be removed, then it caught fire. you can see the burn mark here, trapping the passenger inside. looking at the damage, it's surprising that anybody could survive this crash. police say the driver actually got out of the car and tried to custody not far from the crash. he was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. his passenger wasn't as lucky. it took close to an hour to cut him out of the car. we're told he's in the hospital in critical condition. the accident closed a portion of southbound santa fe for hours. as traffic picked up, the scene distracted many commuters. an officer was attempting to cross the road with her lights on, so traffic stopped for her, with the exception of one the officer was okay, but the driver who hit her car was taken to the hospital. this crash was cleared quickly. it took much longer to tow the corvette. there's currently an ongoing criminal investigation. after speaking with littleton police this afternoon, they tell me this is a felony criminal investigation because of the number of factors invo
