let's go to mike nicco. >> hey, good morning, natasha, reggie, hi, everybody. let's talk about the storm impact scale because we're down to a 1 as we're transitioning from those heavy downpours overnight to just periods of light rain and hours today. another 1/4 inch is possible which means some minor ponding. here's one of those that's not lesser traveled. look at that san mateo bridge had about 1/2 inch of rain in the last 24 hours and light rain's falling there. we got the rain shadow in san jose about 1/4 inch here at 101 and 880 but it's still wet and slick. the storm is weakening. dry and cooler tonight and dry all the way through friday. and a little bit cooler in the afternoon and then a washout likely this weekend and binto monday. we still have some flood warnings -- just expired in santa cruz mountains. the light rain falling there. heading out to 580 and some light rain across the north bay also. and that's what it's going to be. in fact, here we are at 7:00 to 9:00 and you can see light rain turning to drizzle. there may be an uptick in the coverag

let's get over to mike nicco. >> hi, everybody. we're going to turn our attention to the king tides for a second. they are a naturally occurring phenomenon and when it does rain during those, it can enhance the flooding as it did a little bit yesterday on the embarcadero in san francisco. these are the times it's going to hit its peak at the golden gate bridge. so it's going to be 20 to 30 minutes later as you get deeper into the bay. so give you an idea of around this time frame, low land flooding anywhere you see highlighted in the neon green here. let's talk about some of those areas. palo alto, east palo alto, getting some wet weather, campus drive there as you head on to stanford, sand hill road, middle field road coming off the dumbarton bridge. and you can see san rafael all the way moving across the san pablo bay, some puddles are going to developior your commute over the next 15 minutes or so. temperatures inland east bay, low to mid 50s right now. in fact, all of us should dress for that. today's going to a little bit coo

we're joined by alexis smith tracking the roads and meteorologist mike nicco bringing us a cold start to the day. >> yes, grab a coat. i have dialed down to street level, live doppler 7, that storm we talked about that was going to sideswipe us with some sprinkles this morning, wow, that was really too many s's. you can see around pacifica that's where we have it right now. let me zoom on out and you can see it trying to throw some towards half moon bay also. this is going to be around until about 9:00 and it will start fading just like the fog. 12-hour day planner shows a lot of sunshine, low to mid 50s through the afternoon hours but back to the 40s by 7:00. >> it is starting to improve if you're traveling through the novato area on state route 37. we have half of it back open. so if this is your route, i'm sure you know that this is just been underwater for about the last week. the eastbound side of the roadway is open between 101 and atherton. unfortunately, the westbound side, they have not been able to pump enough water out today, so chp will be there conducting traffic on ather

let's check in with mike nicco with more. >> hi, everybody. let's talk about the wind advisory, just another advisory up like that flash flood we talked about a few minutes ago. starts at 4:00 tomorrow morning, through 7:00 sunday morning so about 27 hours or so we're going to have the possibility of wind damage. above about 1500 feet, though, to 2,000 feet, up to 60 miles per hour and that's going to down some trees and some power lines so all the areas you see shaded there in burnt orange, they're the most likely to see the damage and possibly the rest of us have to deal with it in the form of no power. let's look from the explo exploratorium. dry and cool day, saturday and sunday, flooding, poe likely. we have a low coming in from the north. subtropical moisture coming up from the south. by 9:00, sprinkles, my midnight, already steady, light to moderate rain. gets a little heavy towards saturday morning and then it tapers to waves of showers until we get to 8:00 saturday evening and then just look at all those yellows, oranges, and reds thr
