the rest of the south bay moves well. mild slowing through san jose. >> thank you very much. >>> we continue to follow breaking news out of the east bay this morning. crews working overnight after a vehicle hit a gas line at the plant in alameda. we've been monitoring the situation since 4:30 this morning. >> reporter: crews have temporarily fixed that gas line issue that you mentioned. i want to show you they're working on it in front of the plant. alameda police lifted the shelter a couple of hours ago that was put in place after this car hit the gas line. this car plowed through the parking lot fence of the plant hitting this four inch natural gas line and crews had to open the ground to shut this line off. here is fire explaining why. >> the original technician arrived to evaluate it. where it was severed is on the supply side line so shutting off the valve didn't stop the flow of gas. >> reporter: the cause of the crash is under investigation. that driver was taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. cr

so, i think you're good down in the south bay. most of the east bay for any plans at least for the first part of saturday. then bif the evening hours we get more consistent rainfall dropping down to san jose at 9:00 p.m. and i think the evening on saturday into sunday morning, that's going to be our zone to pickup our accumulations. rainfall totals, a lot of this mass you'll see is in the green shaded color. that's good for a quarter of an inch. for the south bay, east bay and north bay, some of our higher elevations in this yellow color could see a half to three quarters of an inch. snow for the sierra, it's going to be up here heading to squaw valley or all pine meadows, 18 inches expected for saturday and sunday. we start to dry out. here's good news. tuesday, wednesday and thursday of next week we'll start our next drying trend. so, at least we don't have several storm systems lined up. we just have to get through this one this weekend. and then mother nature is being very kind to us this time around. and we will see a good bre

but if you're just now waking up, still a bit chilly out there in the south bay, 49. peninsula 48 degrees and the tri-valley at 46 degrees in san francisco already seeing the 50s at 51 degrees. east bay 54 and the north bay 43 degrees. now, taking a live look at our doppler radar. we can actually see some of that rain sitting off shore and it will stick in the north bay for a couple of hours before it begins to track down further south into the afternoon, as well. over the next couple of hours, here's what you can expect in san jose your temperature trend. still keepi overcast skies in the forecast and not much sunshine today. 11:00 a.m. 54 degrees and 2:00 we're at about 61 degrees. now, for san francisco you can already see a few raindrops here and there and we will be keeping that rain with the very light chance though through the noon hour at 57 degrees and if you notice by about 2:00, there is going to be a little bit of a break and then it picks up, again, into the afternoon. so, let's talk about that hour-by-hour outlook. that rain is going to stick to the north

in the south bay, cold 38 degrees. it's clear in terms of the sky. san francisco, 46 degrees right now. north bay into the 40s at 45 degrees. these will be climbing into not just the 50s but the 60s. let's talk about that rain we have seen the past couple of days. we do still have moisture on the radar. but if you notice it is is sitting off to the pacific northwest. what that is going to do is stick up there for the next couple of days. it's going to bring a few lingering showers to sonoma county into the early afternoon. as that approaches, the north bay does have a chance to see some of those stray showers. in terms of your highs for today, get ready to head outside and enjoy good outdoor times. san jose, expect a high of 62 degrees. lowe's gatt dose, 61. morgan hill, 62 degrees. looking at pretty pleasant conditions. oakland, 60 degrees. walnut creek, 61. along the peninsula, into the upper 50s, half moon bay, 58 degrees. in san francisco, also expect a nice warmup with partly cloudy skies and lots of peeks of sunshine. midafternoon 59 degrees. 61

but eventually by 2:30 in the afternoon, we'll get wet weather toward the south bay. then this moves out once we hit 10:30. the quick they are storm is leaving us, the lower the expected amount of rainfall totals it looks like we could get. for the north bay, we're still on track for one to two inches. had it equates to that one to two inch possible for the north bay. for the south bay and east bay, more this green to yellow. so a quarter to a half inch possible. for the santa cruz mountains, we could see two inches. the more north you go, the more rain. eventually we will get some blue sky here and some sunshine for the upcoming weekend. that will be the great news. no big storm systems coming our way. then by tuesday and wednesday, that sunshine returns. temps in the upper 50s to low 60s for san francisco. check it out on the interior valley. by next wednesday's forecast, we'll see it go back to 72 degrees under this sunny sky. we'll have to wait a little bit but we'll get there and it looks beautiful. no major river flooding with that storm system on friday. >> and

here through the south bay i want to zoom in here. we saw northbound 17 getting slower for the last few minutes. pro approaching the east shore freeway a smooth drive. back to you. >> looks good. breaking news, a situation going on a vehicle hits a gas line at about 1:00 this among. several streets are blocked off. crews are working to turn off the gas. >> pete is live with the latest. >> reporter: good morning. i just spoke with pg&e and it sound like this shelter may have been lifted because crews were able to temporarily fix that line. that's where that car crashed through the fence and to the right you can see crews working on that gas line. some of the video we were able to get at the scene earlier this morning. this happened at about 1:00 a.m. and there was one person in the car. fire not speculating on how fast that car was going, but we know that person was sent to a hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. that gas line is temporarily fixed at this time rn, but theyd to open up the ground to shut it off. >> the technician

this is feeling more like spring. 54 in the south bay. 49 peninsula. re seeing some lingering high cloud. also, we are expecting to see more fog the next couple of hours. east bay, 55 degrees. san francisco, 53. north bay, 50 degrees. so definitely not going to kneeled a heavy jacket today. let's talk about the fog. this is visibility in miles. the fog is still pretty patchy. not as bad as it typically can get here. the next couple of hours, this is definitely going to be something to keep an eye out for. we are definitely expecting high clouds to remain in the forecast. that's going to keep us partly to mostly cloudy at least through the early morning hours. let's talk about what we can expect in terms of the weather. the high pressure will continue to dominate. as mentioned, the high clouds and the patchy fog are all we are looking out for. by 1:00, we will start to see the clouds move down south, which means it will clear out in san francisco and along the peninsula area as well. pushing in the south bay. as the high clouds move out, we will get suns
