our dave schratwieser is live at the scene and interesting night for the firefighters. dave? >> reporter: lucy, doubt about that. fire scharr marshall up in the second floor in some apartments that caught fire trying to find the cause of this fire which center two people to the hospital with some small inhalation and minor burns from what we understand. firefighters still on the scene here but when they went and side here at around 7:46 tonight, to fight this fire, after they knock it down they made a discovery of, yes, an alligator, 18 to 24-inches long, a pet alligator, inside a fish tank inside the fire scene. now, they called animal care and control team to the scene here. they arrived about an hour ago. went inside with the fire marshal and removed the alligator to take it to safekeeping. it was unharmed from what we were told by the acct that was here investigators are still looking into this fire at this hour. they hope to question the two people who were taken to the hospital about how this fire started. and the circumstances surrounding that fire freights were here b

dave kinchen is following and joins us live. dave. >> reporter: that's right.just beginning here. you can see looks like the next wave of delaware state police vehicles leaving christiana care hospital here. a very devastating scene. we were in the press conference when state officials announced and confirm the death of the state trooper. not releasing his name as you said lucy pending notification of next of kin. the body of the trooper going to be taken to a facility for further analysis in this case. meantime, one of the suspects was arrested on the scene here by this wawa in bear, delaware. what essentially happened police said in the press conference was that the trooper noticed two suspicious people in a car and one of them got out started firing shots hitting the troop trooper. you can see the procession taking place now. the second suspect ran on food. there's another location where police have been engaging in a shooting situation with the suspect firing at police. that's been going on for several hours now. police trying to bring that to a peaceful re

( marty @ landing ) breaking news... 12 people are without a home this morning following a fire at an apartment building in oakland. the two-alarm blaze was reported at three-fourty this morning on the 3800 block of 39th avenue... firefighters were able to contain the fire, but one woman was sent to the hospital because of chest pain. out of the 12 people displaced, two of them are children. the cause of the fire remains under investigation. we will continue to follow this story throughout the morning. ( marty @ landing ) isis is claiming responsibility for two palm sunday attacks that rocked services at two coptic churches in egypt. cnn reports at least 37 people were killed. an additional 60 people are injured in one blast. this is video from inside one church after the explosion. coptic christians make up about ten percent of egypt's population of 91 million. the governments of both isreal and france are pledging solidarity with egypt. we will continue to follow this breaking news story throughout the morning.
