our team coverage continues now with doug kammerer. he's in storm center 4 tracking maria's path to tell us where the storm is headed next. >> well, guys, right now it's to the north of the dominican republic. still bringing an incredible amount of rainfall to puerto rico. so, they're not done yet with the flooding. this is going to go on for days. the flooding will go on for days as it is a very mountainous island. same thing with the dominican republic. not just mountainous here, but there are almost no trees left on the mountains there and those -- that would help keep some of the water back. but, no, this just rushes in. the dominican republic always has a problem with flash flooding. they're going to get it tonight into the day tomorrow as the storm system moves just to the north and west. the strongest winds just on the northern border here, but look at the turks and caicos. very close now. already getting into the tropical storm force winds. th bit more of a northerly turn. it's expected to turn almost due north at this point, a

. >> our chief meteorologist doug kammerer is in the storm center. it is expected to take a turn north any moment now? >> it is starting to do that now. it looks like from the last couple frames on our satellite you can tell where this is starting to go, making a little bit more of a turn. let's show you that satellite picture. making its way away from puerto rico. came into puerto rico on the southeast side, moved right across the island and now is looking like this. watch the last couple of frames here. more to the north. that is very good news. the reason that's good news, here's the turks and caicos. the islands that were hit extremely hard by irma just about two weeks ago, and it is still hitting the dominican republic. hurricane force winds right along the shore and very heavy rain, flash flooding a big problem there. they are still going to see winds and rain in the turks and caicos, but hopefully this should stay just to the east. so, the now, the latest track has come out still a category 3 storm winds of 120 miles per hour. expected to stay

. >> storm team 4 steve kammerer has been tracking the path of bows these storms. doug, walk us through they are and where they might be going next. >> that's a very good question, doreen, where they're going next. we know where jose is going the next few days. right up toward the boston area. where it goes from there, all bets are off. it's going to meander towards the atlantic and that will have a big impact on where maria may go as it makes its way closer to the u.s. coast. here's where jose is currently. just off the coast line here up of 75 miles per hour, not a very well defined hurricane. more of a tropical cyclone. what that means is we'll see winds along the coast. tropical storm watches and warnings have been dropped in our area but they are still ongoing around the boston region. ocean city a wind advisory. beach ee recognition will be a big issue the next couple days from jose. now, maria obviously the bigger of the two. jose at one point was a category 4 off the coast of the island. jose made its way just to the north of the island. irma hit the northern is
