[applause] gov. hogan: the day after i was sworn in, we submitted the first balanced budget in a decade which eliminated nearly all of the $5.1 billion structural deficits we inherited. we did it while cutting taxes three years in a row. we have put all of that money back into the pockets of hard-working marylanders, retirees, and small businesses, and back into our growing economy, which has helped us create an incredible economic resurgence for our state. are now returning to and expanding in maryland once again. we had the best year for business in maryland in 15 years, the best year for job growth in a decade. we went from losing a hundred thousand jobs to gaining more than 100 and 10,000 --

is there truth, john, to what hogan gidley is saying there? >> look, hogan's got a job to do. but this is a tremendous overreach by the white house to try to argue that this is vindication for the president. yes, they did not allege collusion in the particular set of acts involving the particular set of people indicted by bob mueller that they announced yesterday. but that doesn't preclude subsequent indictments by people who were in fact witting participants. we know, for example, i mean, they said that the russians disguised their identities and preyed on unwitting americans. but donald trump jr., jared kushner, and paul manafort were entirely witting when they attended a meeting at trump tower with russian lawyers offering dirt on hillary clinton. so this is one piece of the puzzle. it is not the end of the story. and it's very shortsighted for the white house to try to act a president. >> what about sanctions on russia, is the president going to move forward with those? >> it's striking to see a lack of leadership from the president on this issue. everybody else on the pla

hogan gidley joins me now, hogan thank you for being here with me. tell me this. the president is now looking at what's happening and there will be this vote today. if they vote to release this democratic memo, what will the president do? >> the president will use the same method, the same mechanisms to go over that document just like he did over the republican memo. we talked at great length about the president meeting with his team and white house counsel and mumbles members of the national security team to deem whether the contents of the republican memo threaten national security at all. he will take the same pay painstaking care with the democrats memo. >> harris: we know from the president after the state of the union, he has every intention to release the republican memo. at that point he had five business days to review it. will we get any sort of forecast on this? >> you will have to ask him. i do know about the process itself, it will be treated the same and given the same level of respect that the republican memo was given. >> harris: the president set
