let's show you the video of what it looked like earlier this morning at 280 and saratoga, just a few hours ago. the chp officer was stopped at a crash scene assisting drivers when another driver passing by lost control because of the water and hydroplaned into the chp cruiser. that was just the beginning of that dangerous chain reaction. at the time, three of the lanes of 280 right at saratoga were flooded with as much as four inches of water, and driver after driver ran into trouble. one driver losing control and hit a person who was out of their car. that person went to the hospital by ambulance. in all, as many as seven drivers were involved. crash at the same location, a witness told us he saw other cars lose their bumpers just from hitting the standing water. the drive was just enough to yank their bumpers off the back of their cars. the roadways are slick and there are pools of water on the roadway. we saw them as we were headed in this direction as well so do be careful. if you find yourself sliding out of control, remember, do g and your car to a safe location. don't try to d

let's go now to 280, this is southbound at saratoga, there was flooding in the roadway. chp had to shut it down after 6 vehicles ended up in a chain reaction crash, one person was hit and ended up with significant injuries, a person that was on the shoulder of the roadway because of one of the first accidents. that person taken to the hospital. the investigation in to exactly what hit what continues. at one point a chp cruiser was trapped in that accident aftermath by another car that was hydroplaning. flooding there also an accident investigation going on, on the 880, off ramp. this is at 1st street in san jose where a person was hit and then killed. the investigation continues there this morning. they are hoping to have that wrapped up before the heart of the morning commute. >>> stay off of the beach and stay out of the water, that's the warning from officials this morning as massive waves pound the california coast. high surf warning is in effect for beaches around the bayeria. at ocean beach, residents put their lives on the line to get an up close look. >> whatever

this happened about 2:00 in the morning in san jose on interstate 280 at saratoga avenue. a chp officer was stopped at a crash scene when another driver lost control and hydro planed into his cruiser. eventually about a half dozen cars were involved. one of those cars struck a person who had gotten out of their car. that person was taken to the hospital and there's no update on their condition. we do know that the chp officer is doing okay. >>> it is not clear if weather played a role in a hit and run crash that left a woman dead in the south bay. it happened just before 1:00 a.m. in san jose. we just talked to police. they tell us they don't have a suspect description. first street was shut down for a few hours. it's now back open. >>> and a warning for parents vaping among teenagers is reaching an all-time high and no sign of kids quitting any time soon. that's according to a new report this morning on substance abuse among teens. nbc's erica edwards has more. >> reporter: the skyrocketing number of teenagers using e-cigarettes has stunned even the experts. >> we're real

perhaps a pocket of moderate rain near sunnyvale, saratoga and san jose. evening drive, we are seeing some of this scattered showers activity work away across the peninsula, 281. looks like it could be wet in san francisco, crossing over the bay bridge and into the east bay, widespread light showers along the east bayshore from oakland down to hayward, fremont and milpitas, and stretches for the inland east. this could be virga as well, meaning not all of it is hitting the ground but it is beginning to moisten about there. here's a look at the center of this storm, this will continue a southerly path. it is not actually going to move across the bay area. for the next couple of days, it's going to be this on and off scattered showers activity that we see before it moves across southern california. here's a look at the futurecast model. notice, all of california getting the opportunity of a little bit of wet weather, but it looks like it's going to favor areas on the west. perhaps along the coastline or just inside the bay. but the further inland you go, tha
