joining me is joel payne from the chin it will presidential campaign and political analyst rick tyler, former senior adviser to ted cruz and newt gingrich. joel, first to you. how are the candidates doing so far in trying to reach out to african-americans, especially young people? i know joe biden does very well with the older african-americans and bernie sanders less so. who's breaking through? >> i think that's important. the generational one. joe biden has really built a strong lead and most of that is based on older black voters, particularly black women the most reliable democratic voting bloc and the black millennials are important because that's where the energy of the party is in terms of social justice issues. things that become in vogue, reparations. those are being driven by the younger african-american millennials. i think you will see someone like kamala harris have to make a big push with them. that's where she can make up some ground and even some folks like pete buttigieg are really trying to dive into that generational divide. i think those are some candidates trying

joining me now, republican strategist and msnbc political analyst rick tyler, democratic strategist andrship aide joel pain. good to have you both. rick, when you kind of think about what's happened both with the tweeting out of the names of donors for president trump in the san antonio area, and you now think of what is happening to stephen ross, is this fair game for donors in this political era, in this political climate, to be outed like this? >> ayman, i think it's unwise. and the reason i think it's unwise is because all of these donors are already public. people can go and look them up. it takes a little bit of effort. but when a public official or someone says, points them out specifically, and not for any ill purpose, but let's suppose someone takes out, you know, targets that person with ill purpose, now that person who put their name out there is really, is, you know, in peril, and maybe -- i'm not sure liability, but you can see what i'm getting at, which is why i think it's just unwise. >> okay, so, fair enough about the point, like maybe it's unwise. and i understand that

. >> and now break it all down, we've got rick tyler, republican stra strategist, and joel beninson, former hillary for america senior campaign strategist. rick, this is where the republicans were four years ago. did the democrats go too much at each other instead of donald trump sore that inevitable when you have a field of this size? >> i think the most disturbing thing is they went after president barack obama more so than they did the president of the united states. and it seemed as though a lot of democrats were very upset about that, that they weren't taking on the president. there are a few -- there are a few who did, but they were few and far between. and biden, of course, was vice president under barack obama. it does use barack obama's name quite a bit and cory booker called him out for that. but that put them all in a very awkward position, particularly on immigration. i don't understand why biden didn't answer, is although barack obama did have what they say is a record number of deportations, they changed the way they counted them. they turned turnarounds into deportation
