as the south bay. as we go through that commute this morning in brentwood, we have some low 60s to start and then it goes up fairly quickly as we look at our temperature trend jumping into the low 90s by noon, and it's going to be a great day to head to the beach and some of our coastal areas today, where it stays much milder, but still quite warm, but nice for some swimming, with some low 80s in santa cruz, eventually reaching the low 90s around downtown santa cruz. we're going to see some upper 90s for san jose, and some highs over 100 degrees for the tri-valley, inland east bay, as well as the far north bay. going into the forecast for this evening for the marlins game and versus the giants, it's going to be at about 78 degrees, but keep in mind that sitting out there in the sun that's going to be quite warm but it will feel nicer as we go into the rest of the evening and i've been tracking quite a few storm systems across the pacific northwest. they are keeping that cool air to the north because it'

rest of the bay. you would think this would be welcome news, kris. >> reporter: well, good morning to you, marcus. it's welcome news unless it is in your own backyard and that's the reason why throughout years of this planning process some folks here in san mateo did fight this every step of the way, but it didn't matter, because the city of san mateo really doesn't have a choice. i want to show you some video here, this is what was happening as recently as 2016. raw sewage bubbling out of manholes in the city into the streets and on into the bay. the state ordered san mateo to eliminate such overflow, so that's part of the reason for this project. the underground tank is part of a billion-dollar modernization of san mateo's clean water program. it's a 5 million gallon sewage storm basin in use during heavy rains, otherwise it would be dry. in our prior reporting the manager of the city's clean water program, not only would the water be treated before it's released, so, too, would the air so it might s

, as well as the south bay. we look at these numbers for the amount of particulate matter that's harmful to breathe in. we are seeing some unhealthy levels there. as we get a live look outside in san francisco, after setting a record high yesterday, we could do it all over again today, but we walk out the door to temperatures in the upper 60s, and we have temperatures all over the map here. we're at 57 in napa, 72 in brentwood, and 67 in san jose, with half moon bay at 54. so where we have the highest winds already this morning, that keep those temperatures from really dropping, and so we are starting out in pleasant hill with some upper 60s, headed into the mid-90s by early afternoon, with our high temperatures today reaching the triple digits once again for the tri-valley, inland east bay as well as the valleys in the north bay, but going into the next several days, this high pressure has less of an influence on our weather as the storm system starts to drop in from the pacific northwest that will bring in gust

and it affects the north bay mountains the east bay hills and also the diablo range. well to the south bay now crews are battling a fire near milpitas check out this photo, the reservoir fire is 70% contained. it burned a 128 acres just off the calaveras and filter road area calaveras road is still closed as of this morning and nearly 300 firefighters are on scene helping out trying to get this fire under control from the air and also from the ground. well breaking overnight a driver has been arrested after driving the wrong way on the and tie. it happened shortly before 3 o'clock this morning. officers received a call all about attack tesla model 3 sedan. so chp says the driver went through the toll plaza ended up merging on to 8.80 north still in the wrong direction and then a spike trip spikes trip was used to stop that driver right around 5th avenue on the nimitz freeway, the driver is now in chp custody. they are investigating what prompted this wrong-way driver. 5 people were forced to relocate after a fire in north san jose was at a care home residents early su
