that is shareholder maximization. the interesting thing that shareholder maximization as a wrote about in previous books is ever since we've had that as aa goal, shareholders have done less well than it did before. which gets back to a clever guy who like -- aristotle, long, long time ago said if the person says -- if they set out to live a good life, to society and their fellow man and woman, they are likely to end up happy. so the pursuit of a given goal, single-mindedly doesn't actually get you that goal. i think there's been a recognition, this pursuit of shareholder value is not terribly effective and it's not great for society because the sacrifice in society. i like the notion of moving away from that singular goal to the notion of stakeholders, plural, as more than one so you have to balance them. what i am not so keen on is the lack of leadership that is being shown, including my business roundtables inroviding tools for doing that. this book is an attempt to do that, provide the ways of doing it because my e

we definitely did have photos of maxime and the kids.apter where you see the back of the little girl's head, the pigtails, part of that is i think sabrina was inspired by a story that maxine had told us about wanting to go to a school picnic and not being able to go because her hair wasn't done. she was the fifth or fourth girl but her mother couldn't get to her head in time her teacher literally took maxime to her own home and did her hair. those little touches i think with the art playing off of the stories and the color being part of storytelling. that was not something i think we expected when we figured out and realized we had to get an illustrator because it was so stressful at first. it really did come together we knew going in we wanted something graphically interesting and i don't think ice thought behind beyond the words graphically interesting. i had just come off of writing "here for it" and they are like i get to put any pictures in it? i said no. i was like, how does one put a picture in a book? sabrina and then the design
