i am scott a resident of michigan. i am a retired automotive engineer and i have been working on getting out the vote for the past three years in underserved communities. those numbers, you have been fussing over, represent people. and i have one person i would like to describe to you to try to make that point. this is peggy. she was an older black woman who was in the del ray senior center on grand in southwest detroit. she came into the community room obviously blind and she made her way to the table with the help of another resident. herof my volunteers helped fill out the forms for registration as well as getting on the permanent absentee ballot list and having her sign in the proper locations. we came back later, confirmed that she had voted and she was so pleased. this was the first time she had voted, and it was in this election where she wanted to have her voice heard. so i was also at tcf. i want to reflect back on what derek said is what i saw. and causeos to try errors, not to catch errors. the process was a

take a look what's happened in michigan this evening specifically wayne county, michigan. wayne county is the most populous county in the state. it includes detroit a city made up predominantly of democrats, specifically african-american democrats. wayne county went heavily for biden in the presidential election. after all the votes were counted joe biden won wayne count by 37 points, by more than 322,000 votes. statewide, though, the race was much closer. joe biden won the state of michigan by just 2 points and change, a margin of about 148,000 votes which predictably has made wayne county a target of the president's crack legal team because if you can throw out enough ballots in blue, blue wayne county, if you can depress joe biden's victory there, you can make a dent in the statewide lead big enough it could flip the results in donald trump's favor -- maybe. that would, of course, only work if there were enough graud fraudulent ballots in wayne county to throw away. there's absolutely nothing to suggest that that is the case in wayne county, in michigan or for that matt

the will of the people of michigan. the president also called the two republican members of wayne county michigan's board of canvasers late last night they asked to then rescind their votes to certify the election results in detroit. so they were going to go ahead and certify the results, right? and then the president calls them and all of a sudden no they want to block it. the michigan secretary of state's office says it is impossible but the president of the united states picked up the phone and called them and got them to try to block the results of the votes of the people. trump doing everything he can to unleash a torrent of strife and hatred, distrust, resentment. and biden, the polar opposite here. keeping an incredible calm in both tone and substance, refusing to spar with trump. >> what the president is doing now is really -- it's going to be another incident where he will go down in history as being one of the most irresponsible presidents in american history. it's just out -- not even within the norm at all.

he's a longtime michigan republican. he's a former republican member of the board of state canvassers in michigan. that's the group of four people who will be charged with certifying michigan's election results on monday. he used to be one of the two republican members of that board. that board has two republicans and two democrats. mr. timmer used to be one of those republican members. now, mr. timmer has since become an independent. he is a strong critic of president trump now. he is a senior adviser to the lincoln project and co-founder of republicans and independents for biden. but he's watching this closely and he's sort of sending up a warning flag for all of us. today he said this as a warning about what's going on in his home state with these efforts to throw out the election results. he said, "be alarmed, america. serious games are afoot in michigan." joining us now is jeff timmer, senior adviser to the lincoln project. he served as one of the two republicans on michigan's board of canvassers from 2009 to 2012.

of play in michigan.higan. similar type of effect. if you want to go bigger picture. if you were watching the results come in earlier on in the night, you saw ohio and north carolina start very, very blue. democrats looking that on the map, thrilled about the possibility of flipping ohio back. guess what -- ohio is still off the map. ohio margin was almost the same. it went from very blue throughout the course of the night to very red with a pretty sizable margin with 90% reporting. ohio has been called for president trump. why do i tell you that? because of how states like wisconsin, like michigan, and like pennsylvania have been counting their vote by mail. ohio was releasing their vote by mail results earlier because of how they were counting things. same with north carolina. we saw it in florida earlier on as well. michigan, wisconsin, pennsylvania, they have been counting election day vote first, then moving on to vote by mail. so the inverse has occurred, where it started off more red, just a couple
