we've seen closure after closure or at least lanes blocked the multiple lanes blocked on west bound. 5.80, easter crow canyon you road. that's right. before you drop into castro valley right there resulting in a backup that stretching for miles on up into the hills that's our biggest back up this morning that we've seen so far today. the left lane is also blocking southbound. 80 hasn't resulted in too much of a back up just yet. we had a closure along the webster street tube earlier heading into alameda. but it does look like that. just reopened. so that's a bit of good news there for travelers in and out of alameda traffic collision with injuries westbound highway 4 near pittsburgh. one lane is still closed there. we had that back at moments ago. it has started to wane a little bit. so my feeling is that they got that lane cleared off. now. and that has improved traffic a bit. the bay bridge from the base to fremont street. that's going to take you 8 minutes. but i do want you to be mindful of an incident that we have right there at the toll plaza. we do have a traffic collision. al

the sidewalk and the bike lane is protected by parked cars. i really enjoy biking on this street, because i like that extra separation and protection from moving vehicles. i can tell you this is the best practice, or as close as we can get, i think, in hamilton. bike lanes that are uni-directional, separated and protected are superior to those that, well, aren't. it's that simple. we've just arrived at an intersection, where the party ends, basically. we're going to have to go diagonally across queen street here, and it's always a bit of a challenge. this has actually been the location of several accidents. when you put up all those warning signs, it's because your design sucks, you know? and signs aren't going to fix your design. that was only in response because there were so many accidents, and so it wasn't a natural way of designing or planning. it came because people said "enough is enough." you really have to move up well into the traffic lane, to see if you can make a break for it. even the motorists, too - they have to be able to encro

all lanes are shut down. there is a fuel spill in lanes as well.time to mop up in that area. you see fire crews are on scene. we've got chp. cal trans issued a hard closure until further notice. likely this will be shut down for most of the morning. it happened about an hour and a half ago or around 5:00 this morning. so it has been out there for sometime. it is definitely causing a big back up in the area and it will take time to clear. here is a look at what the back up is like. this is from mission as you get on the freeway. it is backed up well beyond this point in the area. traffic pretty much is crawling along. they are diverting off the freeway at 262 which is mission. if you are trying to take 680, avoid it if you can. i will jump to my maps and give you an alternate. use 880. i have highlighted that in pink. 880 runs adjacent to 680. so that will be your best bet and to avoid brake lights along 680. this is as you commute through fremont. south 680 or south 880, traffic is at the limit. there is mud on the road way, debris on 84 niles cany

the median stays in the same location and the lanes adjacent to the on street parking becomes a bus lane. so just a little bit of a summary of the main reasons we are proposing this change. one is it allows us to accelerate the delivery of much of the transit and safety benefits of the project. the build phase of gary rapid with this version of the project we will be able to install the rest of the transit lanes, bus stop changes in some of the safety improvements as early as the second half of next year and it also allows us to limit the construction disruption associated with the project . with the side running project deconstruction happens more at spot locations. where there are either muscles, and both are signal updates whereas with the center running configuration you need to do more for linear construction for the whole segment where you're removing the median building. and it also gives us the most transit operational flexibility as well as preserve local stops. this refers to one of the trade-offs with the prior center running designs where there wasn't enough room for bus pass
