we have widespread upper 50s and low 60s through the bay area. over to the east bay, 58. san francisco, 55. and the north bay at 56. so numbers going up a couple degrees. but, again, the heatwave isn't starting just yet. down here in the south bay, we can definitely handle this. 83 in cupertino. 93 pleasanton. 79 in hayward. the peninsula, 65 half moon bay. over to redwood city, 79. san francisco, we're still in the 60s. the warmest in the mission at 69. and through the north bay, i have it up to 99 in ukiah. otherwise 88 in sonoma. down to mill valley, 78. let's get it back to the heatwave. we showed you the area of high pressure that's developing to the south tomorrow. as we hit later on this week, it's going to start to move into the pacific and get stronger. thursday and friday, i do see numbers approaching 100. but this heatwave really starts to pick up steam and get much, much hotter here once we hit saturday's forecast with that dangerous heat. so right now no big changes here on our heat warning that's in place for the entire bay area. i still see places like san

inland east bay. comfortable sleeping weather for now but i think low temperatures by next weekend could be in the upper 60s. 61 degrees right now in dublin. 64 degrees and the reason for the haze is wildfire smoke which has been dropping down the east, being pushed inland by the sea breeze which is bringing in smoke and low clouds for the morning. you can see it there. the upper level low just off shore. the unhealthy levels for near surface smoke up in northwestern california and southwest oregon. we have the low clouds and the drizzle. similar trend. clouds on the coast but a change for the afternoon for inland areas across the north bay. you may see a few high clouds. that upper low that's bringing us a little bit of the smoke. probably not enough midlevel moisture to warrant any real shower chances and there you see the low clouds in to tuesday morning. our temperature trend at least to start the week is a familiar one. it is similar to what we had this weekend. by lunchtime temperatures climbing

the daytime highs today, if you are in the bay -- say east bay short line, peninsula, south bay, numbers are going to be a little warmer today by about maybe three or four degrees on average. plenty of sunshine and the south bay numbers, some of those are going up to 90 now.'ll do tmi 9 inland east bay communities. east bay shoreline, your numbers are back to the upper 70s. it's still mid 60s in the city. 86 in novato. 86 for santa rosa. once you get up into mendocino in lake county, a few more triple digits today than yesterday. in the seven-day forecast, while you don't notice a whole lot here, look at san jose's number, from 88 today to 82 tomorrow. we'll cool you down. we'll do the same thing for those inland valleys in the north bay. 90 today, 80 tomorrow. you'll stay in the low 80s for most of the next seven days. gianna, over to you. >> i'll take it. take a look at the golden gate bridge this morning. yeah, you can see it, which is great news. no fog to slow you down. a pretty seamless ride in and out of marin county. you can see they're activating lane changes to allow more for c

north bay. daytime highs through tomorrow will stay on the warm side inland. but this is still looking good at least tomorrow. 82 in san jose. 77 vallejo. 89 livermore. 82 in fremont. 75 in san mateo. palo alto 79. san francisco, 60s across the board. through the north bay, 96 in clearlake. 84 in napa. we've had to deal with some heat on and off, but what's coming our way we haven't seen all summer long. for the most part, we've been pretty lucky to get lots of fog building at the coastline. that's already saved us from about four heat waves this summer. this time we're not going to get saved because this high pressure is going to be building in and strong. now, it starts to get some heat in here thursday and friday. but i really see the official heat wave so to speak here starting on saturday's forecast. and that's what's going to bring that dangerous heat. look at this map here. excessive heat watch for all of the bay area starting saturday right through monday. temperatures inland could go up

south bay. on wednesday, not a lot of change. not only do we have the heat, we'll get subtropical moisture, dewpoints coming up through the upper 50's, that means it's going to feel pretty sticky out there. that happens midweek to the end of the week. the temperatures are going to try to cool off, but with that change in the atmosphere, it's going to be a warm week ahead. highs today anywhere from the low 70's to the upper 70's, san francisco and oakland. 93 santa rosa, livermore, mid 80's in the south bay with about 80 in santa cruz. the accuweather seven-day forecast 60's coast, 80's around the bay, mid 90's inland and the next couple days summer sizzle with our hottest day on tuesday. upper 90's to near 100 for our interior valleys. low to mid 80's bayside and the coast will warm just a few degrees. it's going to stay warm all week long, but the warmest days should be tuesday and wednesday, liz, so that's your heads up. liz: all right. good to know. thanks. we'll get ready for that. ok. just
