it's happened in san mateo county.g that was following behind him was also hit by a fallen tree, but no one else was hurt. ktvu lamonica peters has more about that tragic accident. the saturated, road saturated ground. the winds, the rain are just contributing to an absolute dangerous situation. when it comes to these trees, the woodside fire department, the california highway patrol and san mateo county sheriff's department responded to the scene, chp says as fire and rescue we're trying to get the man out of his truck. another tree fell, hitting a second vehicle they had to stop briefly for their own safety. unfortunately it was one of those freak accidents. he was driving down from what i understand from the plumbing supervisor. he and his partner were driving in two separate vans. they were leaving a job going to another, and unfortunately he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. first responders eventually had both trucks towed away from alpine road and the trees cleared from the road. reopening alpine just be
