warming up quickly down the peninsula from san francisco and into the santa clara valley. mid-60s, not bad for early april. low to mid-60s for inland parts of the east bay. temperatures around the central bay, mid to upper 50s, low 60s. mid-50s for the north bay because of the additional cloud cover and a chance for showers keeping you cool. the neighbors to the north will keep us cooler with a chance for showers and only around 50 degrees for our high. that is not much for the start to april. again, for most of the bay area, the one decent chance for showers looks like it will hold off until tuesday but even then, a few hundredths of an inch of rain, nothing life-threatening or notable but we will see breezy conditions sunday and monday across the entire bay area. keep an eye on that because of the tree situation in the wake of all of those storms. the good news, warmer weather heading our way next week. looking a little beyond friday, easter weekend does look like we will warm up to near or above average temperatures, something to look forward to as we get through our fi

farther inland in the santa clara valley, 86 in morgan hill. low to mid-80s in the east bay. tied with morgan hill, antioch and brentwood. temperatures around the bay cooler than today. temperatures top out around 70 degrees for oakland and the east bay with mostly mid-70s north of the golden gate. not as warm as other parts because the wind will be out of the south bringing the cooler air in the inland valleys until you go farther north. we go from temperatures inland running 5 to 10 above normal tomorrow to near or below average temperatures on sunday, the beginning of a big pattern shift that will bring rain chances to the bay area beginning on monday. the best rain chance is tuesday. but still lingering rain chances through the rest of the first week of may and into the first weekend in may. not exactly a typical pattern for early may but it's what we have to contend with. no day is a complete washout but be flexible with outdoor plans. tuesday is the best chance of rain for everybody. the atmosphere will be unstable enough with cold air in the upper levels that we could

santa clara valley board of directors voted today to ease drought related restrictions. santa clara county has been out ofdrought to since last month's there. there's a look right there at the reservoir levels in comparison to y2021. it's very clear that 2 years ago the water level was very low and there was a lot less going on. a lot less vegetation around the area. now the reservoirs look just about full today. all the board members agreed the mandatory 15% water use reduction. instead, they'll implement a 15% voluntary water use reduction for the county. that means a great relief to residents pocketbooks. today, the san franc publiutilities commission also voted to its wa emergency declaration. the agency says as because of the high water storage levels in the reservoirs. >>he dro surcharge is alsoing lifted. it will take fect on first, however, the 11% statewide voluntary water use reduction will remain in effect. >> phillips 66 refinery in rodeo started to flare today, sending smoke into the sky. this is video from our sutro tower camera. the refinery says that there

the winds are very light now in the east inland hills and even down into santa clara valley but it is breezy along the coastline. we'll continue to see wind gusts start to kick up this afternoon. let's look at our weather headlines. i checked off the list breezy along the coast this morning and into the afternoon hours. this week we are going to see passing clouds through the bay area. what we see is pretty much what we get, high sweeping clouds, nothing producing rain until later this week around friday when the rain chances start to increase and temperatures start to increase too. it's an interesting effect going on as we head into the weekend. we'll see 70s return in the bay area in inland areas as early as saturday into sunday. with that in mind we have a chance of showers on those days as well. daytime highs as we take it a step back, low 50s along the coast, mid 50s in the bay area, upper 50s lower 60s in east inland hills, santa clara valley, wine country too. today is a great day for some fresh air. there is no excuse why you shouldn't. the sunrise will be a beautiful one. we'
