the pilot was flying a lightning to f 35 fighter jet over an area that includes two lakes near north charleston. it's possible the jet is in one of those lakes. pilot is not being identified, but officials say he's being treated at a civilian hospital. there's now an investigation into what happened before the crash. and the faa is investigating a deadly collision between two air racers during the national championship in reno. the gold and silver medalist in the t six plane category collided as they were landing after the race and both pilots were killed. there have been several deadly crashes in the long history of these races, including last year's crash during the gold medal race for jets in 2011. a world war two era plane crashed and killed the pilot and ten spectators. this year was the final air race at stead airfield after the airport decided to stop hosting these races. new this morning, flying taxis could be one step closer to reality as the city of dayton, ohio, is adding to its status as the birthplace of aviation. joby aviation has signed a deal to start producing air tax
