i'm with cinthia pimentel. can you tell us which areas are seeing the worst air quality right now, and when do you think things will let up? when can things get better? >> it's looking really unhealthy out there. you can't escape it. if you look in any direction, the skies will be hazy for the next couple of days. and really it's this weather pattern that we're seeing that's keeping -- that's locking in the unhealthy air. from the south bay we're squinting over on into oakland to see the city skyline there, and the levels right now unhealthy for sensitive groups, so this means children that are going out to maybe practice right now for any after school activities, people who are elderly or people who have cardiovascular disease, the day to stay indoors. we'll continue through tomorrow with the spare the air alert. maybe also a day to stay home tomorrow or find those alternative ways to get around town. this weather pattern here, it's really that low-pressure system that's been bringing in the winds from the nor

cinthia pimentel joins us now. what are they frustrated about? they want the president to do? >> yeah, so the issue here is the disapproval around president biden's handling of climate change. and they want him to actually declare a national emergency. this was on the minds of the 80,000 demonstrators last week in manhattan during climate week. they tell nbc that president biden campaigned on being for the youth, that he was a climate activist, but many say he needs to declare a climate emergency and really look at one of the root causes of our climate in crisis, which is the reliance on fossil fuels. the thinking is that if the president invoked an executive power on this, he could more quickly transition the u.s. from oil and gas to cleaner and cheaper green energy, and that's something that about two-thirds of registered voters support. and when he was asked about this recently, declaring a climate emergency, here's what he had to say. >> i have already done that. >> reporter: you already declared that national emergency? >> yes. >> so that ac

. >>> now to the weather and cinthia pimentel for this sunday's microclimate forecast. >> good morningering san francisco. i promise you right there, kira, the transamerica building is being eaten up by that dense fog this morning. we are waking up under a lot of cloud cover in the south bay. a little chillier start to the morning and the cloud cover limiting the visibility. check out napa, around a quarter of a mile visibility. half a mile in napa. be careful if you have to head out. we are looking at the fog, deps out towards half moon bay as you go up 101. currently right now, 48 in sonoma. so a chilly start. 54 in livermore for the start of our sunday and 58 in palo alto. as we go through the day today, you might have noticed yesterday from the south bay, down into the central part of the state, more of that moisture continues to impact places along the central coast here, definitely near l.a., and into palm springs. more of that activity will continue on for the day, and also pushing on to our east. i wanted to get this in there. if you do have any sunday plans that take you out t
