jared kushner definitely has talked about this in. terms almost more akin to that of a real estate mogul assessing a piece of land than someone who understands the complicated history and the tragedy of the 2 million people who live there. the tragedy of the war with israel. it's almost as if both kushner and his father in law stripped that out of the equation. i think what donald trump said tonight, you know, obviously, is probably one of the more breathtaking things we've heard him say. it is certainly not previewed in anything he said on the campaign trail, although he suggested in his remarks that he had been contemplating this for months, he said that he had spoken with many people who approved of this idea, and yet it seems like he hasn't probably talked to a lot of people to socialize this. i noted that prime minister netanyahu was complimentary of donald trump, but he did not explicitly endorse this idea. i think many republicans, not to mention democrats, would have a hard time swallowing anything like this. it seems that don

i mean, let's be very clear outside of jared kushner making a passing remark, a seemingly passing remarkack in march of gaza having beautiful waterfront property, we have not heard the words of candidate donald trump or president trump suggest the takeover of a land where millions of people call home, the moving them out and the taking over and the ownership of the united states. and i think that what this represents, i think, cannot be overstated here. back in the first trump administration, there was some semblance of a, of a of a governing structure in the trump administration in 2020 with the help of jared kushner. they did put forward what they call the two state solution proposal, right. there was going to be a two states, and yet there was going to have to have a have israeli security forces overseeing the palestinian state. palestinian president abbas completely rejected it. okay. but at least it was some sort of a plan or something that was put forward. this is not anything of a plan. this is a complete american imperialism at its roots, at its core. donald trump suggesting that

second of all, do i think the president i mean, i've heard people around him, you know, jared kushnerover in the last number of years and he said he i'm not just, uh, you know, jared kushner has said these things publicly, particularly when he was working on the abraham accords and other projects that the it is a shame. it's tragic that this territory sitting there on the mediterranean. i've been to gaza. i've i was struck by it when i was there. i spent time in the jabalya refugee camp. and you sit there thinking, how has this place been left to rot by the local, quote, unquote, authorities, when it could have been developed into, you know, something much more hopeful for the for the palestinian people? so i think the president is actually, as he often does, is imagining a pretty ambitious vision for what gaza could be. so at a minimum, you get everyone thinking and you're putting pressure on everyone in the region to start thinking differently. more likely, he's thinking this could be something that could be a tremendous asset to the region and to the united states. but in order to

i know jared kushner had told the president a year or two ago.a's waterfront property could be very valuable. suggested the move the israelis out and clean it up. donald trump is a developer. he sees the potential. again talking about land that people had fought over decades and it looks like trump and netanyahu discussed it. but they didn't really talk to the other side because as lucas detailed some of the over sides involved like hamas has said no. the no so far that i just was reading about in the "times of israel," egypt is a no. hamas is a no. saudi arabia is a no. and china is a no. and there is an op-ed in the "times of israel" right now that says the gaza plan won't happen but could shake up the region because new ideas are needed. this might spark more viable solutions. that's what donald trump said yesterday. we need new ideas. >> lawrence: i think it's going to force the muslim world to find a solution as well. i think it's going to give the president a lot of leverage. something has to give. and i don't know if this is the solution.

and of course, you know, netanyahu is an old family friend of jared kushner and his family, the son inaw of the president. so, yes, they're very close. and i you know, we. mike huckabee is the president trump's appointee to be u.s. ambassador to israel, who's publicly said things like, palestinians don't really exist. um, and so, you know, the biden administration, i think, gave netanyahu much, much of what he wanted, including something like $25 billion of arms. um, and i anticipate the trump administration is going to be even more kind of operating in israeli and netanyahu's interests in terms of giving him a free hand in the west bank. uh, you know, that's certainly the indication we're hearing from trump administration potential appointees. >> as it pertains to the cease fire deal. we're now entering or close to entering the second phase of the deal between israel and hamas. um, is there volatility that you see? >> well, you know, on the far right, on the right of netanyahu, they've said that once the 42 day ceasefire, six week ceasefire expires, they want to go back to war. um, so

is another ridiculous idea that trump is throwing out there that will never go anywhere unless jared kushner is going to come back and, you know, talk to the saudis and run the sovereign sovereign wealth fund that he's, you know, sort of become accustomed to doing outside the government. but like, this is an absurd thing that's never going to happen in our government. it's not what we do. it's what countries in the middle east with enormous oil reserves do like this is just another trump distraction to make us think we're going to buy tiktok. and what make it a state run media operation? we already have that with twitter, so. >> well, a lot of northern european countries have sovereign wealth funds. to the scandinavian countries. >> they have enormous oil supplies. >> part of the american premise is that the government is the government doesn't pick winners and losers in a sovereign wealth fund. is definitely the government picking a winner? >> yeah. what do we know about like the algorithm itself, though? i mean, isn't there still a question about whether tiktok will actually ever give it u
