nbc's maggie vespa is following this story from columbus. what's happening there, maggie?reads to this story. number one, flu cases and hospitalizations are absolutely surging nationwide right now, experts say, especially among kids. we're here at nationwide children's hospital in columbus. and this really sweet waiting area where staff say they are absolutely inundated and they're scrambling to keep up with this surge. they tell me they had roughly 1500 cases of the flu here at this hospital last week alone. the second thread to this story is that because of this surge right now, schools, districts, classes, they're being canceled and closed by the dozen across several states. this is really a nationwide problem from ohio to kentucky. we found examples in oklahoma and texas. we just found dozens and dozens of districts going remote due to what some are calling widespread illness, mainly the flu and tennessee. more than 70 schools have closed in the last couple of weeks alone near louisville, kentucky. one district sent a letter home telling parents they were going to go r

maggie, investigator still searching for a motive but what more are we learning about the suspect andut 12 hours, he was caught about 20 miles away. as you said, bruce reginald foster, he was the man identified an authority say that he works here but his exact motive, it remains a mystery, they don't know why he started shooting, they don't know why he targeted the people he did and we don't know the victims names but we know five people were injured and one was killed. they were searching for him after he fled, u.s. marshall's found him about 20 miles away inside an apartment complex just on the edge of ohio state university's campus, it was basic off campus housing. so right now, foster himself as being charged with at least one count of aggravated murder with police recommending he be held on $20 million bond but there are bigger questions about motive and also how he was able to get away so quickly and remain on the run for so long, we are hoping for answers to the questions at a press conference set half hour from now as well as the mayor of the town. >> thank you. >>> we are fol

. >> maggie. sam.et's get cracking because reform uk will hold the balance of power at the next general election, according to a major new mega poll of over 5000 voters, which for the first time has predicted in british politics a three way tie. and now nigel farage is holding the balance of power. in the poll's findings, the conservatives will win 178 seats, labour 174 and reform uk 175. now that is as tight as chris hope's wallet on a friday night, and that would be a dramatic rise from the five that reform won in 2020. for now, the most likely government outcome of this would point to a conservative reform uk coalition now. meanwhile, labour mps in 98 red wall seats are panicking that keir starmer isn't doing enough on immigration to keep the reform party at bay. but with many other labour mps in favour of freedom of movement and in fact some even wanting to give immigrants the right to vote. is immigration a problem that labour simply cannot or will not solve? now that is a lot to get our teeth int
