eastern standard time was on its way to springfield-branson national airport in missouri. that's a flight of about 1100 miles. so this plane would be fully loaded with fuel very likely, and would explain the large fireball that we have seen in these videos that keep surfacing on social media. the early data, the preliminary data from open source flight tracking site ads-b exchange, also corroborated by flightradar24, is that this flight took off and was airborne for about 40 minutes. it took off on philadelphia northeast airport's runway two four. that's to the southwest, and was airborne for about 40s and was descending at the very end at 11,000ft per minute. that is an alarmingly high rate of descent. business jets like this in a normal descent, descend at about 2500 or 3000ft a minute, depending on their speed. so there is a lot of detail emerging here. but of course, to underscore, things are very preliminary, very early to speculate on the cause of this crash. the most alarming thing to me right now is the video surfacing from ring doorbell cameras that shows this pla

they were supposed to stop in missouri when their plane went down. one person in a car also was killed. 19 were injured. investigators with the ntsb are calling the crash an accident. the plane was only in the air for one minute before it went down. and back to washington. now, where we are giving you ts live look, we are learning that a memorial for victims of the potomac plane crash. those family members are gathering right now. and we saw maybe a dozen of those commuter busses bringing family members as well as emergency vehicles. they will be holding some sort of private memorial service this morning. the ntsb, though, is offering its first glimpse into what they know so far from the plane's flight recorders. the plane's flight recorders were saved on thursday, and the black hawk helicopters on friday. crews could start lifting the two aircraft out of the water today and that, they hope, will help them recover the remaining victims. nbc's aaron gilchrist reports. the ntsb, providing new details about their investigation into wednesday's deadly cr

and joining me now is republican senator eric schmitt of missouri., welcome back to "meet the press." >> it's great to be with you, kristen. >> well, it is great to have you back. i want to start on a somber note. i want to start by talking about this horrific plane crash in the nation's capital. it claimed 67 lives. i know that you have been paying close attention to this investigation. president trump, for his part, came out, he held a news conference, started with a moment of silence, quickly shifted to politics, including blaming diversity programs for the crash. do you believe that president trump runs the risk of getting ahead of the facts by drawing conclusions that he, himself, says that he has evidence that diversity programs played a role. >> well, the first thing i want to say is that our thoughts and prayers are with the families. this is going to be a long road for them. as everyone knowsthis is a nightmare. you take a loved one to the airport, you never expect this to happen. you know, the last time you ever see that person. i don't --

john: a psychologist, a mental health and coordinator at a missouri vet school, says part of it is aor perfection. >> perfectionism, attention to detail and high personal standards can be positive and motivating. but, if perfectionism is maladaptive, characterized by excessive self-criticism or deep fear of making mistakes or disappointing others, it becomes detrimental not only to academic performance, but to mental health or well-being in general. john: how much is because their patients can't tell them what is going on? >> quite a bit. they are essentially having to read body language. the quality of the information is dependent on the pet owner or client, and their ability to self-report. it is not the same as a human physician who can do a clinical interview with a patient who can speak back. john: another study says a big reason for the disproportionate rate of veterinarian suicides is easy access to euthanasia drugs. the difference between suicide rates among veterinarians and the general population goes away when cases in which vets use those drugs are excluded. >> we know in

tijuana international airport, but the flight was going to make a stop for fuel in springfield, missouri. a company spokesperson described both the pilot and copilot as very seasoned, adding that the company jet rescue air ambulance flies 700 missions a year. the images of the crash are terrible. they were captured on people's ring doorbell cameras. take a look. this all happened just after 6 p.m. today. you can see there the plane erupting into a huge fireball, and those neighbors rushing back inside their homes. we also know that after the crash, several homes caught fire. thankfully, firefighters were able to get people out of those homes and everything is now under control. now the important the really important piece is how this all happened. the investigation is underway and ntsb investigator is on scene and more members are coming tomorrow. we've also been talking about the debris field. it's huge. our local fox affiliate reporter says he found oxygen tanks from the air ambulance at least a quarter mile away from the crash site. and employees at a local diner, also a quarter mile
