nbc news daily. i i'm candice nguye. a day of protest is being held nationally and here in the bay area. new video from nbc bay area sky ranger over oakland high school. students walked out of campus just this morning. and students at overfelt high school in san jose are planning to take part later today. organizers hope to show the economic power of the immigrant community, especially in the wake of the recent immigration crackdown by the feds. enjoy this dry weather today. rain expected to return by midweek. here's meteorologist kari hall wit our 7-day forecast. today, we can expect our high temperatures to only make it into the upper 50s with a lot of sunshine, and then dipping down to 44 degrees for tonight. by tomorrow, we will see an increase in cloud cover with a slight chance of rain and a better chance of rain in wednesday's forecast, as well as thursday as we get the cool and winter like weather sticking with us for a little bit longer. but then take a look ahead to the e weekend.e're going back to some more normal weather for this time in march, as well as sunshine, but right b

kris sanchez, nbc bay area news. thank you chris. the rain will be on and off today. kari hall with what to expect. we begin the day with some rain moving across parts of the bay area, but it will be clearing out and our temperatures will be still cooler than normal in the upper 50s and low 60s. we're looking at a high of 59 in novato and san francisco, as well as oakland and 57 in dublin. tomorrow, also a cool and mostly cloudy day. but then by friday, we start to see those temperatures going up as we are getting ready to set the stage for a nice weekend. but we do still have some rain in the way before we get there. the rain that we'll see will be kind of hit or miss. some spotty showers in the forecast through tomorrow, partly to mostly cloudy and then we are going to see things clearing out going into the day on friday. and it looks like it's going to shape up to be a very nice weekend. we'll take a look at those numbers coming up in the next 30 minutes. thank you. kari a follow up now. oakland leaders have approved new funding to keep four fire stations open, eve
