that i'll have a look at the accuweather seven-day forecast in a few minutes. carolyn. >> thank you, lisa. this morning at 8:00, caltrans will give us another progress report on the new bay bridge work. so far so good. it may open a little earlier than the scheduled opening tuesday morning at 5:00 a.m. they tell us the bridge is already capable of carrying traffic, except for smoothing a few surfaces, painting some lane lines. today they are wrapping up their project from the toll plaza to the new span. crews still need to finish striping a few stretches leading to the yerba buena tunnel and the s-curve to the old span is already being removed. >> there won't be an s-curve anymore, but when the bridge does open up, there's a strict 50 mile-an-hour speed limit there. it will be strictly enforced by the california highway patrol. several yards where the s-curve was has been demolished to install a new temporary bike lane for the new span. the rest of the old steel bridge will be dismantled over the next three years. at 2,047 feet, the new bridge will be the longe

the accuweather forecast coming up showing we are look at this heat sticking around for a little bit. will explain. >> pg&e is facing more fines and penaltyings for another error in its record and for the way it let the state public utilities commission know about that error. it comes days before the three-year anniversary of the deadly san bruno pipeline explosion. we have the story from san bruno. >> on september 9th, 2010, a pipeline ruptured and exploded into names. 8 people were killed and 32 homes destroyed in the neighborhood. that pg&e reduced pressure on the gas stem on the peninsula. when it asked for permission to bring the pressure back up, it was required to show it was safe to do so. now it is said the commissioner granted the permission based on faulty information. pg&e let them know about the error but only months after discovering it. they are also concerned about the way pg&e submitted the correction just before a long holiday weekend for a process normally used for much less serious corrections. the san bruno city manager said she's not sure a fine will change pg&e,
