tonight, my exclusive interview with former vice president al gore. i'm here in miami participating in a conference organized by the climate reality project, non-profit chaired by gore that in the last 18 months has trained thousands of people from over 100 countries the facts of our climate reality. and the backdrop for the conference could not be more appropriate. yesterday, the streets of miami beach were hit with coastal flooding exacerbated by climate change. a report this summer found that florida faces more risk from the effects of climate change than any other state in the union. joining me now is former vice president and climate activist al gore. wonderful to have you here. >> it's great to be here. thank you very much for participating in the conference. >> you know, i was thinking to myself that you -- the last time you were running for office, you were in elected politics, was 15 years ago. and you know, we're all watching this campaign happen. we're all watching politics now. there's some sense things have gone off the rails or the center

he doesn't actually have to decide, or al gore, have to decide by october/november.ese filing deadlines for the big primary states that come up in the winter and spring of 2016. and so they do have to make some kind of a decision by then or they won't be on the ballot in those big states and can't get the delegates to get the nomination. but there is nothing making joe biden have to decide before hillary clinton testifies on these e-mails in october. and where al gore or somebody else to get interested they have a couple of months to make a decision. >> and wendy davis, in this cnn poll which showed donald trump with his first decline in -- still front-runner but going down, hillary clinton still front-runner and going up. >> exactly. >> it's the first time we've seen her go up in one of these polls. >> that's exactly right. i think it's because she's speaking to the issues that american people care about. she's talking about income inequality. she's talking about racial injustices and the criminal justice arena. she's talking about creating a workplace where familie

the fire burning and al gore. it is now 74% contained that fire destroyed a 540 for homes 350 other buildings and then has billed more than 70,000 acres. the police have released more information they have not been seen since the fire on september 13th. they are still working to identify the romance found inside the cabin. the only way that they will have a complete resolution is to know what happens. if it takes a criminal investigation that they are certainly willing to support that. the 14-year-old son to stay behind and finish up with the rest of the family went to the cabin. there is no word on how the fire started or if the remains of the third victim may also be in the rubble. two men were killed and two police officers hurt in a shootout in front of a target store. they say the officers were attempting to serve warrants on two people yesterday afternoon. those people (-open-paren on the officers. the woods are not life-threatening. the attorney's office is investigating the shooting. coming up in 20 minute

he and al gore are barnstorming through texas and things could not be more exciting. it's one of those moments when it's not at all clear who is going to win the elections. the debate haven't started. clinton and gore enjoying the post convention high that comes after a presidential nomination. but there are some signs out there. i remember heading for the bus to interview a guy in a local hotel. when i asked him who was going to win, this is in texas, he answered in a way that told me how things are headed. i kind of think those two boys. he just liked the cut of those two young boys from the south. i couldn't tell it wasn't going to be as simple as that. clinton was wondering what bomb the republicans would drop on him. once again, he hits the campaign trail, this time for hillary. i have to say will never be as hopeful and innocent as it was back then when we were both still so very young. thanks for being with us. all-in with chris hayes starts right now >> tonight on "all in," this is a bigger challenge than we've ever faced. >> from the climate reality project c
