a colleague and i drove in from albany, new york. we had dinner with another colleague in the restaurant. if you have never been to the restaurant here, it is really beautiful and charming and the food is delicious. but we walked in, it was empty last night, except there was a couple tucked into a corner. they had champagne and we were loud when we came in and i said, sorry, we are probably disturbing your romantic evening here. the woman looked at me and said, no, this is my brother. so from west point to albany is where it freezes.f they break up the ice too much all of the chunks will flow downstream and end up clogging the new york harbor. there's a delicate balance. but the vessel i'm on right now it has such a perfect steel hull to break through the ice. it can break through 13 inches and if it's deeper than this it has ways to ride up on the ice and come back and rock its way to break up the ice. they also go out to calls from barges that get stuck and make a circle around the barge and literally cut them out of the ice. this is a very important vessel. there's about two to three of them that go up and down every day. this is one of the worst winters that i have seen since 2004. the cold making it much more icy than normal. i started with a test run. then i got a solid night's rest in a great room. and before i hit the road, i hit the breakfast bar where i got my fuel for the next 26 miles. great endings begin here. and now when you choose choice twice, get a night at no price at 1,500 hotels. book now at c
