high winds also causing the closure of alcatraz.n the east bay there were power outages and downed trees. kron4's therese astosio reports from martinez. >> reporter: here in mart toes, crews spent hours trying -- martinez crews spent hours trying to repair this. all of this on bridgehead road just off the 680 freeway. pse&g owe -- pg&e officials pulled -- by mid-morning, power had been rerouted and restored out here to most customers. the power outage initially affected 2721 customers. in else reito -- el sore -- sorito, eliminating power to 65 customers. power was not expected to be back until mid-afternoon and look at this in berkeley near ashby and harper. tree branches knocked down by the winds landed on powerlines causing an outage to about 45 customers. and in vallejo, look how the high winds impacted this big branch, it just cracked and landed on the street. this was on hargus and banning way. the streets were blocked for a while. the chp was concerned that the branch would crack more and put people in harm's way. county work
