at least one person trapped in an overturned car in the oakland hills, and abc7 news reporter amy hollyfieldon scene for us there. amy. >> reporter: look behind me at this very active scene here on redwood drive, a huge team of firefighters working very hard to get this victim out of the car. they are definitely having a tough time getting to the victim. they have been at it for over an hour. a witness tells us there were four people in the car, that it was coming around a curve on a downhill and crashed in oakland hills. the car crashed through a fence, hit a tree and then caught on fire. one man was able to get out on his own, but the other three people were trapped and firefighters had to get them out, and it has been challenging work. partly because the tree they hit is now basically part of the car. it's now keeping firefighters from getting to the victims inside that very crumbled up car. it sounds like every one survived. the witness tells us he heard lots of screaming and cries for help from the two men and the two women inside this car, and of course their condition needs to be asse

. >> amy hollyfield is live near the scene at orange drive and nut tree road right near the vacaville outlets. amy. >> reporter: hi, jessica. police are still on the scene investigating exactly what happened here. they have not identified the man who was killed here. police say two officers fired their guns here in front of the outlet mall in vacaville, and this started around 12:30 this morning when police ran the plates of the car and determined it had been stolen. as they pursued the car they say he sped up and did not stop. they then did the pit maneuver where they use the front pumpe to tap the car they are chasing to cause it to spin out and that's when the shots erupted. >> we do not know if shots were exchanged between the suspect and the officers. we do know that two of our officers discharged their service weapon. we do not have an identity on the victim, and anytime a life is lost it's a tragedy for a community. >> reporter: the officers involved had on body cameras and also had dashboard cameras rolling so they have footage to go through that could help them in the investi

abc 7 news reporter amy hollyfield is live. amy?> reporter: jessica, the park is open, just opening at 11:00. families are streaming in, but you will notice the emerald plunge slide and teal one next to it will be closed again today, but still will be getting a lot of attention. we saw a group of people looking it over this morning. that was before the park opened. a city spokesperson told us representatives from the slide manufacturerer are here as well as inspectors from calosha to see how it happened and how to prevent it. a 10-year-old boy fell off the slide. he was checked out at the hospital, and he is okay. officials inside try to figure out what happened, some on the outside are doing some speculating. one resident who says he's a pool contractor, wondering why they are not treated with a playground slide with a soft base. >> should have had impact material below the slide in case this happens, and that material should have been all around that slide in order to protect the kids. it's unfortunate to think our city might end

a nasty crash seriously injuring four people, and abc7 news reporter amy hollyfield is on scene with the latest for us. amy. >> reporter: jessica i just talked the firefighter here on scene that called it a challenging technical rescue and here is video shot within the final hour and the final victim being trapped in the car and trapped for almost two hours. firefighters say he is in very critical condition. another man and woman were able to escape on their own. the car was coming downhill at 3:25 this morning on redwood road just past skyline in oakland when it crashed. it hit a fence and the car then rolled and it hit and uprooted a tree and caught fire. a security guard working in the area heard the crash and was first on the scene. >> a lot of screaming and hollering of just panicking in the vehicle, so i didn't know what was going on. a lot of chaos. >> reporter: firefighters say the car was mangled and had the tree on it and that's why it was tough to get the victims out. all four victims were taken to the hospital. the two who were trapped are being described as being in very

amy hollyfield is live for us in walnut creek with the story. amy. >> reporter: reggie, i just got off the phone with the spokesperson for the fire department and he said they have had a rash of car fires and all under investigation. this is in walnut creek, and this car still in the driveway, right in front of a home that was saved, just a little garage door looked like it melted there but that is it. firefighters protected the home but the car is destroyed. they got the call at 12:26 this morning to come here to larky and leroy lanes here in walnut creek, and just as they got the fire out they got another call 15 minutes later a car was in fire in lafayette, padre street, just two miles away. these are not the only two car fires this week here in cause trau c, and that call came in at 3:45 in the morning, and the car was parked in the driveway, so a lot of similarities here between these cases. this time firefighters came right out of the gate that time saying this one looked suspicious. three car fires in the same county in the same week, and

amy hollyfield, abc7 news. >>> she made it all up. that's what south bay police are saying about a woman that claimed she was abducted at knifepoint and forced to drive to oregon. oregon deputies found the woman running down a road on friday night and she said a man abducted her in san jose and forced her to drive there. and the student said she escaped when her car ran out of gas and san jose police interviewed her yesterday and they released the statement, during the interview the victim rekapbtd the allegations and stated she fabricated the entire incident. >>> and then a town hall meeting about a recent police shooting. officers responded to a possible home invasion. one suspect fired first and at least one officer fired back. nobody was hit. the meet something being held at the bayview opera house at 6:00 p.m. and it's part of the department's efforts towards transparency. >>> these nine men face charges because of a prostitution ring. they responded to an online ad last month and agreed to meet at a hotel for sex and when arrive

amy hollyfield is live in san francisco with the latest. >> reporter: there is a petition, letters to a congressman support on twitter calling him an outstanding member of the community, not a criminal. but i.c.e. officials say they won't be releasing him from the jail he is in just outside of sacramento. hugo mejia is a married father of three. his wife says she is afraid to be here without him. his community rallied for him in san rafael yesterday. his wife says he went to a construction job at travis air force base three weeks ago and never came home. >> i can't explain how i felt that day. it's very terrible. >>> i.c.e. released a statement saying "mejia entered the u.s. after being previously deported in 2001. mr. mejia will remain in i.c.e. custody pending court proceedings." in 2001 he was caught trying to cross the border. because of that previous offense he is set for expedited deportation proceedings. the u.s. congressman for san rafael is asking i.c.e. to consider giving him due process before sending him away. reporting live from san francisco, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news.

abc 7 news reporter, amy hollyfield has the latest, amy? >> reporter: kristin, some of the own employees say they do not have confidence in him, and this has been very damaging to mor morale in the office. this is a look at the group meeting this morning. this is the board of deputy district attorneys in the county. this board voted unanimously to take a vote among its members of no confidence in their boss, accused and admitted to spending campaign money on himself. a grand jury said yesterday he should be removed from office. if deputy da's vote in favor of no confidence, it's symbolic, not triggering legal action, but the board thinks is would be a powerful statement. >> it's a way for our association to stand up and say this is not acceptable. this situation is not acceptable. we do not agree with mr. peterson's actions, and they do not represent the values that we have as criminal prosecutors in the county. >> reporter: peterson told abc 7 news yesterday he has no comment about the grand jury's decision and did not return calls today.

"abc 7 news" reporter amy hollyfield is live at the walnut creek scene with the latest. how extensive was the damage there? >> reporter: hi, kristen. here is what is left of the honda here in walnut creek. this was on fire at 12:30 this morning. firefighters kept it from spreading to the home but their work wasn't finish. just 15 minutes later a call came in that another car, not too far away from here, was also on fire. the owners of this suburban were asleep inside their law fay et home on pauld ray street when they heard and smelled something suspicious. >> my wife woke up and heard kind of a pop and then we had a strange smell and then the car took off that a way from around the corner. >> reporter: they looked outside to see their suv was on fire. >> and we hadn't driven it since 2:00 in the afternoon, and so they -- they told us last night that it was set. >> reporter: firefighters then told him they had just put out another car fire 15 minutes earlier, and only two miles away from his home. >> it is pretty strange. yeah. >> reporter: the first fire was in walnut c

amy hollyfield is live where the training is taking place, amy? >> hi, kristin, this is not the same ground the dogs are used to. they trained out there, and we went along for the ride to see how they did. this is 3-year-old dusty's first time on the boat. couldn't have asked for better weather or better setting, but this is not for leisure. dusty is here to work. the tsa watches to see how she handles the new environment. >> whether it's training on ships or at the stadium or at the bart station, there's different sites, sounds, and disinstructions that dogs really pay attention to. it's important to get them in different scenarios. they worked in the office, a little anxious wondering how she'd react to the sounds of the ship. >> some dogs shut down, and she wanted to work. >> reporter: she found two detonation cords aboard a horn blower ship, one dangling from the ceiling, the other hidden behind the counter. her handler couldn't have been prouder. the tsa is responsible for certifying the dogs for mass transportation systems. if a dog fails to
