annie mccormick has more on what happened and why they are taking these things. good morning annie. >> reporter: good morning, matt and tam, in the past half-hour northeast detectives are going door to door to figure out who is behind this rash of car break-ins where they stole air bags. this honda that's the similarity. all hondas were hit. the owner of this vehicle telling us he heard us outside this morning and that's what alerted him and had him come out to see the damage. this is voted of more of the videos that were hit. they tell us a neighbor heard something around midnight. saw two people inside with a flashlight in one of the vehicles. alerted police. a car alarm may have scared off the thieves from hitting more hondas. this is not the first time hondas have been hit. earlier this month they had a rash of 30 vehicles they were looking at it. they are still investigating this. it just happened hours ago looking into the possibility they are related. here's what some neighbors had to say about walking out to see it this morning. >> the window, the windows

good morning annie. >> reporter: good morning tam and matt. that's not going to keep the kids at wyncote academy from learning. look at the sign on the campus of gratz college here today welcoming those students. it was saturday, take a look at this video that their school a stone building built in 1885 went up in flames and is now completely destroyed. about 65 students go to the wyncote academy. that was started in 1973 for students that couldn't find good fit at other schools. it has a great rate of kids going to college. they work hard there but now after this fire they didn't know what they were going to do so they have a handshake agreement with gratz college who has an extra building on their property that the students can use. they spent days making sure that they could equip that building so the students could get back to work and the head of the school, the head of wyncote academy had this to say about all the help they're getting from the community. >> it's coming from all over, new jersey, people are just calling and saying listen

"action news" reporter, annie mccormick is live on the scene with the very latest. good morning annie. >> reporter: good morning tam at least five cars hit in the rhawnhurst section of the city. across the street that's one of the cars that was hit. the thing they have in common they are hondas, you can see on the drivers side the window is broken inside. the air bags taken out of the steering wheel. take a look at this video this is from early this morning, this is one of the cars all with the air bags taken all windows smashed. neighbors say this happened around midnight when somebody heard something happening loodged outside and saw two -- looked outside and saw two people with a flashlight inside one of the vehicles. this is not the first time they have heard of the problem. in fact earlier this month major crimes told "action news" there was a rash of 30 similar crimes like this all with hondas hit, the air bags are easy to sell on the black market. one of the men who is part of the neighborhood watch talked to us this morning about how police alerted them abou

annie. >> reporter: and matt i want to take you right into the scene. see there's still a lot of activity out here. now, there are several fire companies, ladder trucks and engine trucks that did come out here. there was also a tanker that came out here for help. you can still see smoke on the top of the roof. that is where it appears. the bulk of the damage to easton bible church has occurred in this fire. well, take a look at this viewer video that we got. you can see how thick that smoke is. we're told that the fire broke out just after 3:00 a.m. this morning. it's not clear if anyone was inside the building at the time. but one firefighter i spoke to said that they believe that no one was inside at the time. now, it's not clear again how this all started. this is very early in the investigation. but the two alarm blaze did bring outer multiple agencies from all around burlington county. this happened on fostertown road in hainesport, easton bible church has been here for oolong time. this is a large brick structure and again, at this point it looks

doing this, annie? >> reporter: yes, it happened to five hondas on the block. let's get you to the video of the damage that was left behind by the thieves. police got a report after a residents heard something and looked outside and saw somebody with a flashlight inside a vehicle. now, five hondas, all hondas hit. air bags taken out windows smashed. this is not the first time this has happened. information "action news" was with major crimes earlier this month. they saw a rash of 30 vehicles all hondas, same incident because they are able to sell these on the black market for hundreds of dollars. one man on the neighborhood watch said police came to the neighborhood in rhawnhurst to tell them about the problem. >> i heard the alarm go off i wasn't aware what time, it was somewhere around 12:00 or 12:30. it's something you wish you would go out and see somebody doing it at the time i didn't see anybody. it must have happened quick. >> reporter: an expensive problem to fix. it could cost up to # thousand

"action news" reporter annie mccormick is live outside their temporary home in melrose park.d morning annie. >> reporter: good morning matt. i want to show you a sign over here behind me. it might seem small but that little plastic sign saying welcome wyncote academy students is a huge hug to those students who have nowhere to go right now. they are expected to come back to their classes here on the campus of gratz college who are graciously donating a building here so that they can get back to class. take a look at this video video of the fire that happened over the weekend at wyncote academy. that building, that stone building built in 1885 completely destroyed. the school has been in place since 1973 and currently has about 65 students a lot of those students who decided to go to that school because they really struggled at other schools and this was a great outlet for them, many of them going on to college. once there was a handshake agreement in place that they would be able to continue their classes here at gratz college while they rebuilt they got a lot of help from th
