cedar rapids police say an hurt in a fight at a laundromat on the city's southwest side. investigators were in the parking lot at 6th street and 8th avenue sw yesterday afternoon. that was around three o'clock. police say the call was for a domestic disturbance at the soapy waters laundromat. the police department says the officer was talking to a suspect when he punched the officer, knocking him out. the officer went to mercy medical center for treatment. police say that suspect, 33-year-old nathan brocks, fought with other responding officers as well. those officers used a taser to get him under control. brocks faces 8 charges, including 2 counts of assault with injury on a peace officer. the iowa division of criminal investigation has released the name of the man a sheriff's deputy shot last week in muscatine. investigators say the deputy shot 41-year-old timothy seefeldt. deputies say seefeldt stole a hummer on friday night. they later stopped him in a hotel parking lot in muscatine. investigators say y efeldt drove enforcement vehicle, which is why the sheriff's deput

tonight's city council meeting starts at 7:00 at city hall. a follow-up to a hazmat situation in chesapeake last week. the fire department tells us almost 75- thousand gallons of jet fuel leaked at the kinder morgan south terminal last friday morning. nobody was hurt, but 70 homes in the area had to be evacuated as a precaution. the virginia beach s-p-c-a took in some birds that were contaminated by the spill. the fire department says it will not fine kinder morgan for the spill. kinder morgan is responsible for the clean-up cost. nobody was hurt when an attic caught on fire in norfolk this morning. firefighters say an electrical issue started the fire in a home on westminster avenue. they say insulation caught fire, and the home didn't have working smoke detectors. luckily, a man inside the home was able to get out before firefighters arrived a little after 3:30 this morning. firefighters say they stopped the fire before it could damage any of the home below the attic. shut off electricity while firefighters investigated. no one was hurt. abou
