are there plans to expand bart's service around the bay area? >> we have as our priorities, the big three. rail cars, train control, and hayward maintenance facility. if we can accomplish increasing the fleet, increasing headway, we will get more capacity. >> can we extend hours? >> the overnight service is not likely to be possible with rail, but we do have a pilot project, a rubber tire overnight service from san francisco. >> buses? >> buses. >> why is an overnight -- isn't overnight service possible on bart? >> because of the maintenance needs. we have to have access to crews into the various parts of the system. if you don't provide the access the maintenance will deteriorate causing service to go down. it's a balance. we want to provide the maximum service we can for riders and we want to be sure that crews can get in there and maintain trouble spots when they're identified by employees. >> we only have a couple seconds left. the question that keeps coming up when you close down this trans bay tube, what are the odds of a second tube? >> i
