tides returning to the bay. i want to start you off with this map, this gray matter shows you where the fog is, and where it's the thickest is where the fog is thickest. an easy map to read and up near santa rosa, that's where we'll find the thickest of the fog and even down the peninsula, half moon bay toward san mateo and toward san jose we're seeing the fog thicken up and burn out of here eventually by 11:00. the king tides return to the bay area today and continuing through wednesday and high tide is in the morning hours from about 9:00 to 10:15, right from about sausalito down into san francisco and over towards the oakland area, but this is the thing to note. low tide in the afternoon, so the morning commute is really going to be affected with the water up on the roadways. the evening commute not much of an issue. on the storm map we'll notice you have two systems out here, one of them across the pacific, the other one right over the bay area right now. unfortunately, it's so weak and falling apart and tha

a little drizzle in the east bay, san francisco and the north bay.we've been showing you san francisco because you can really see that low level area of moisture right here. it's that gray that is getting reflected off of the lights tonight, and also folks with their windshield wipers on this evening with temperatures right around the mid-50s. we'll take you to the forecast pattern, and the biggest problem we have had is this area of high pressure. if we could just push this out of the way, we would see that storm track moving right across the bay area. but it's not going to happen. high pressure is going to stay in just about the same spot as we continue to head throughout this weekend. that's going to deflect all of the storm activity. we're going see some of the residual moisture on the bottom edge produce a few possible showers this weekend. an area of high pressure that has so much dry air with it that as some of that moisture gets close, it evaporates and we lose all of our chances of any kind of major accumulation. so as we get a look at the f

nbc bay area news starts now. >> right now at 6:00 frustrated tenants in the south bay say they have been living without hot water for an entire week. when the3 good evening. i'm peggy bunker. terry mcsweeney is off tonight. how does a cold shower sound on this pretty cold night? that's what dozens of people in san jose are dealing with. they're coping with their fifth straight day without any hot water. marianne favro joins us live in san jose with how this happen and also marianne how residents are dealing with it. >> reporter: well peggy, a huge tree fell here on parkmore avenue on tuesday afternoon. and that caused a power outage, and also it caused electricity and the heater to go out as well along with water service. you can see that crews have been working to repair the problem. but tonight, five days later, tenants are still without hot water. the huge tree was removed right away. but according to a letter apartment managers gave to residents, the gas service cannot be turned back on until the city can inspect the work, and that won't happen until early next week. that means
