the entire bay area. but i think the best possibility will be the east bay and also for the north bay. let's go ahead and get a look at the forecast. the biggest change we have tomorrow is this area of low pressure that's been spieshlraling into thunderstorms. as that happens, it looks we're going to have the chance here of thunderstorms continuing again for tomorrow. let's go ahead and look at the future cast. what you'll find is stlout the morning hours, best clansz would be again, through the east bay, maybe towards san jose we may get some of the thunderstorms blowing upright across the south bay. 45's really going to be towards the south bay. what you're going to find for san jose the east bay and also for the peninsula u we're tracking temperatures in the 80s. 84 for the peninsula. san francisco, mid 60s. for the north bay, 80 in napa. that possibility of thunderstorms, 75 in oak land, 86 in livermoral. so we had that cooler weather today, at least sliegtly cooler. but then as we head through friday

today on the bay at lunchtime it's at 71 degrees in the south bay, san jose, the east bay 63 degreesnd 63 degrees in san francisco, but making it into the mid 80s in spots like the tri-valley and also the south bay, 83 degrees today, the peninsula 75. overall a beautiful day, so at this point we do need some rain so we've been watching the tropics to see what's going on out there. now we have tropical storm carlos and it looks like over the next couple of days this this may turn inland into port toe voralto. it looks like it misses out on our area and heads off to the east. we'll take a look at the rest of the microclimate forecast farther down the line. in fact, it just heats up. i'll talk more about that in a minute. right now let's check in with mike. >>> looking over here it just gets more crowded i guess we have our own battles here. this is the bay bridge and right now very easy drive, you see a little glow for those lights, a little moisture in the air, visibility is just fine. we're talking about either side of that bridge, highway 24 westbound around fish -- just outside --

let's take you to the north bay, east bay and also the tri valley. not as hot in napa valley. great news if you're headed to the wineries. 87 degrees expected throughout napa, even sonoma. santa rosa hotter at 88. a very comfortable day with 83 degrees. and for the east bay, lafayette expecting 93. if you're having brunch tomorrow, looks good. and for the tri valley still dangerous levels of heat here for saturday with 99 degrees in livermore and also 97 in danville. if you're looks for something to do this weekend, we have you covered. let's go ahead and get a look here in livermore. it is going to be hot as we mentioned, but for the livermore rodeo parade if you're headed out early, 77 degrees. not too bad. but by 1:00 p.m. that's when temperatures are going to be soaring. we also want to take a look over towards north beach. it's going to be cooler here. you can see 71 degrees on saturday and then by sunday 67. again, this event happening both days. one thing you want to watch out for, though is that uv index. it's going to be a 10 as we head throughout the next three days

90's inland east bay. our seven-day forecast shows tomorrow the sea breeze is more stout and that means four degrees cooler with the manner layer more stubborn about leaving. friday is like today and saturday is the warmest day and father's day temperatures are like today also. >> here is a look from richmond-san rafael camera and condition are light heading over the water. five minutes to the north bay. from north to south, as we take you to the south bay we have construction and it will last until 6:00 this morning northbound 280 to southbound highway 17 and the connection is going to be blocked until 6:00 with detours in place and the rest of the drive throughout the south bay is moving along at south bay so traveling along 101 to the airport you are at 69 miles per hour and 280 and clear and highway 85 and 17 as well, and 87 at top speeds and accident free. 580, tracy to dublin, is 30 minutes to the westbound direction, and highway 4 antioch to concord is 14 minutes and 101 southbound from san rafael t

same for the north bay, east bay up to 75.ncisco today not going to be overly warm still comfortable. 65 degrees. and tri-valley yesterday in the 90s. today in the 80s. still warm but not as hot as it has been. we have two areas of high pressure, one across the pacific. another across the four corners. both of those kept the storm door shut. winds are out of the north, start to shift around that area of high pressure in the northwest tomorrow. that's going to bring back a sea breeze. for tomorrow temperatures aren't as warm coming down more back in the 70s for most of us tri-valley in the 80s. the coastline is where you'll feel it. cloud cover stays put, temperatures only in the 60s tomorrow. as we mentioned earlier, the tropics are active. tropical storm carlos now a hurricane winds up to 75 miles per hour. this will continue to make it toward puerto vallarta it is a slow mover. it will make landfall there as a category one hurricane or tropical storm, but looks like it will impact mexico and for us not bring up rain like bla

mid 50s across the bay. the north bay, 51 degrees, the wind forecast coming in from the northwest, not so much of a strong onshore flow, but the fog will be rolling out fairly quickly, the marine layer a bit thinner today, so expect more sunshine and it would start to pick up this afternoon. by 3:00, winds coming in at about 15 miles an hour, a little bit stronger for half moon bay at 27 miles an hour, and then look at how strong these winds get later on this evening, up to 34 miles an hour sustained winds at half moon bay with even higher gusts. keep that in mind. also keeping that in mind for the giants game today versus the pirates. first pitch 58 degrees with a mixture of sun and clouds by the end of the game. breezy and cool, making that ball head way out to left field and the winds from the northwest at 15 to 25 miles an hour. let's look ahead to the weekend. for the south bay reaching into the mid 70s, peninsula 74 degrees on saturday, and notice we have some rain in the forecast for parts of the bay.

those are some serious numbers, especially in the east bay and south bay. here's something that hasn't happened too often. the heat causing a traffic mess on the 580. you see the backup here. a severe traffic alert for most of today. it was just lifted about an hour ago. now, here's why. emergency road work forced cal tran to should down near san quentin around 9:30 this morning. the road started to actually dissolve there. there is a fuel spill in the same area a few weeks ago. caltrans says corrosion from fuel spills get worse in the hot weather. and that's what happened this morning. at one point, traffic was backed up across the bridge. >> while the heat is on the water is off. some popular cooling off spots in the south bay are bone dry today. a casualty of the drought. nbc bay area's marianne favro is live with more. marianne. >> reporter: janel, right now it's 99 degrees out here and usually i would be surrounded by kids playing in this water structure and getting doused and having a blast. but the drought has changed all of that. with school out and

another warm location is across the south bay. we have some upper 50s to lower 60s, and across north pay, eastin' east bay shore line, and across the peninsula, temperatures in the 50s as you head out the door. as you know continue into your afternoon, the south bay will continue to work up into the 80s, the closer you are to the water. san jose some lower 90s. mid-90s the farther south you go. moran hill 94 by 3:00 p.m. looking at the peninsula, temperatures will continue to warm up into the mid-70s for san francisco, and looking at some upper 80 to right around 90 across the mid-peninsula. if you want to head to the beach this afternoon, temperatures will warm up to the upper 60s to near 70 with a nice sea breeze. coming up, we're talking about what to expect into tomorrow. i'll have all of those details coming up at 6:15. here is rebecca with your morning drive. rebecca? >> well, it's getting busier on the roadways, as we kick off the 6:00 hour. this is pretty normal, though, and if you're take it will the bay bridge toll plaza
