welcome to nbc bay area news at 4:30. we're going to share with you what police and people in that neighborhood are telling us about that mass shooting. we're also tracking other stories including a string of deadly wrong-way crashes on bay area freeways just this past weekend. we'll dig into the numbers and see how common they really are. >>> also, an 81-year-old woman getting evicted from her own san francisco home. our ian cole joins us to explain how it was sold from underneath her. >>> the breaks might be starting to go the warriors' way. we're learning about a star who might be out for game five. we'll begin with a light night shooting in one of san francisco's most popular tourist attractions. one person is dead, four others wounded. now police are trying to figure out what sparked it. it happened late last night outside the condor club. according to san francisco police, investigators do not think the shooting was random. all five of the people who were shot are from outside the city of san francisco. according to

good weather expected, temperatures reaching into the 60s across most of the bay area, the exception t, mid- to upper 50s, which is pretty normal for mid-april, low to mid-60s around the bay and san francisco and oakland, farther inland, mostly 60s and the warmest spots pushing 70 degrees by tomorrow afternoon. the warmest weather is in store the first half of the weekend for inland parts of the bay area. for san francisco and oakland, there's not a whole lot of change the next several days. we'll hover within a couple degrees of what's normal for this time of year. then we cool off again. another wave of chillier air is headed our way monday, tuesday, wednesday next week with the chance of a few rain showers monday night into tuesday. it's an outside chance, but we'll keep an eye on it. the inland temperatures both for the north bay and santa clara valley reaching to around 70 friday and saturday, but begin doing cool off already for the second of the weekend with the coolest weather coinciding with the best chance of light rain showers. if we get showers tuesday, they aren't likely

we have to start first. 50s in the forecast with breezy conditions throughout the bay area. the inland areas, napa, fairfield and concord. cooler near pacifica. into this afternoon, partly cloudy skies at times. a splash of showers, too. but it's isolated to the inland areas. this is around 5:00 this afternoon. notice near mount hamilton and south a little bit of moisture then we dry up a lot into the tuesday forecast. that is the trend into most of this week. drier tense on the way. we have to get through today first. the breezy conditions throughout the coastline and solano under a wind advisory until 11:00 tonight. when it comes to the winds, we know the drill, power outages and downed trees. a close eye especially due to the fact that the winds can get up to 45 miles per hour. this afternoon the winds don't lighten up at all. pushing into the north. be careful on the bay bridges driving to and from work and school. late tonight we will see breezy conditions until early tomorrow. the temperature outlook is warming up a lot into the rest of this week and weekend. we will s

but a lot of the rain is falling apart as it reaches the bay area. there will still be the chance of light, measurable rain in parts of the north bay late other than tonight. this is 9:00 to 10:00 we're starting to see some light rain coming in and there may be spotty sprinkles around midnight to 2:00 in the morning. most of us won't see that. as we go into tomorrow, the north bay still getting a slight chance of rain into the evening while the rest of the bay area is clearing out. we're also going to see some light snow for the sierra. look at this. another 3 to 7 inches of snowfall between now and tuesday afternoon. so if you are going in that direction just a heads up that the roads may be very slippery. then going beyond that we're heading back to some dry conditions for the rest of the week and the weekend is looking sunny but next week we may see our next chance of rain. take a look at walnut creek and our trend with temperatures going up. the peak of the temperatures will be friday and saturday. next week it comes back down to seasonal weather.

however despite the excitement surrounding the launch, many bay area restaurant tour say they're strugglingty still trying to get back on its feet after covid the problem spreading across all areas from the workforce staff of left the pandemic kind of took away a lot of our staff and we are starting to get people will returning, but it's definitely still a challenging time for that to lack of customers. you know, there's less people in san francisco like we feel it because they're less customers. places like koi are an example of some of the struggles that they area eateries have faced since the pandemic once a michelin starred restaurant, it's since closed its doors. the struggling restaurant scene was the topic of the night at a panel discussion at manny's on monday. it's gotten the attention of many in the culinary world after several local restaurants missed out on prestigious awards. we may not have all of the escalades that we used to have, because maybe they're getting more spread around. but it's not all bad news. you know, it's still pretty dynamic, like our access to ingredients i

what's going on around the bay area?are staying dry for the most part, but there are some storm systems in parts of northern california and up into states like oregon and in washington. what's this going to go as we go throughout the day? it's going to push into the bay area. let's give a little bit of an hour by hour outlook on this rain, light fog and that drizzle. as we go through the afternoon, most of the rain chances, i believe, will stay to the north. places around santa rosa, out onto the coastline, around bodega bay. the rest of us will see cloud cover increasing for our saturday afternoon plans. day time highs will be mild, especially down in the south bay. 66 forecasted in san jose. 59 in san francisco. we've got 62 for you out in concord. things will start to change as we go into the day tomorrow and into next week with this low dropping a little farther south. what that's going to do, again, spotty showers for sunday, very trace amounts. 0.01 of an inch, if that tells you anything. also, pick up the wind spe

air into the bay area as well.turecast which focuses on the rain aspect to begin with. there is the mix of clouds and sunshine that we will see tomorrow. the moisture will be aimed well to our north road tomorrow and most of thursday. it will be way north in the north bay aimed towards mendocino county and making its way into lake county. as we go towards thursday evening after sunset , rain chances will increase. the majority of the rain will fall thursday night into the pre-sunrise hours of friday morning. that works out pretty quickly. i would count on a wet commute for friday morning the way things look right now. we will keep you updated. by the time we hit late morning, things should already be drying up. that is good news for the giants home opener, scheduled for friday afternoon. we will keep you updated on that. it should wash at least some pollen out of the atmosphere. we are talking about a lot of the moisture from the system, enough to knock down the pollen count on friday into the median category, then

look at the intensity map, it was strongest around the epicenter but it was felt all the way to the bay area up to the north bay out towards the central valley. we are talking all the way out towards merced, fresno, modesto. when you look at the earthquake intensity, the magnitude was a 4.5, which is a light earthquake, but with noticeable earthquake, the energy equivalent is about 33,000 pounds of explosives. so if you felt it, and i felt it up on the second floor here, it was a jolt. ama: it certainly makes sense when you put it that way. dan: for the locals living on top of this earthquake today, they got quite a jolt. ama: lauren martinez want to hear from neighbors about the damage. >> everything started falling and what do i do because it has been so long since we had thisle rattled the nerves of some and some grocery store shelves. >> it rolled a bit, but it was not terrible. lauren: after the managers of hollister super made sure no one was hurt, they went into cleanup mode. >> lots of sauces and glass on the floor. lauren: they joked alcohol was spared. >> another thursday, i guess.

just pretty warm temperatures out there around the bay area, even inside the bay, some 80's to. but along the coastline, half moon bay, 56 degrees. so quite a difference. and you'll see that big difference in temperatures as we head toward the summer months here. but things are still active in the pacific, even though we've got a big ridge of high pressure that's going to build in over the next couple of days and sent temperatures soaring well by next week waiting talking about 20, maybe 30 degrees, cooler temperatures and maybe a chance of rain. i'll show right here. here's the long-range forecast as we take you through time. high pressure builds in tomorrow. probably the hottest day of the week as we get into the weekend. well, here we go. friday looks good, too. temperatures still running well above the average, probably saturday as well. but by sunday, a cold front comes in. that is going help to start to cool down and then that low just kind of spins off the coastline. and there you go. a chance of some scattered showers as we get into tuesday. that low continues to spin of

some rare may storms making its way into the bay area starting as early as monday through tuesday. s going to be the most unstable day where we do have a slight chance of pop-up thunderstorms. >> mainly for the north bay and even our bay area coastline, most of the bay area monday through tuesday expected to get about a quarter of an inch of rain or less. but it's a snow levels that we're going to notice in our highest peaks that's going to be around 4,000 feet for local hills and mountains where we could actually see a fresh dusting of powder. and then wednesday into saturday on again off again, light scattered hit or miss showers going to impact the bay area. bringing us endure from about a quarter of an inch to half an inch of rain. but for local pills and mountains, we can expect at least an inch of rain when it is all said and done. so let's take a look at radar for kuz. we are noticing that stubborn marine layer along the coast, but it is this storm out in the pacific northwest from the gulf of alaska that is going have a cold or core to it. first bringing us some windy condit
