i am eddie part of the bayview program. i want to say that our program is the only program out here to service with youth dealing with multicultural youth programs. and we are fortunate to get support from the city and to be out here. and all due to the attention that happened three years ago when there was a lot of african, asian tension out here, because of misunderstanding. we want to focus on young people. and we have our second summit where youth come together and organize it. and the theme they come up is called usla, a way to address trauma and stress. and the young people came up with this idea and put together addressing the trauma and the stress they deal with every day in district 10. and another thing we need more programs dealing with employments where asian and hiring african-americans and job training and latino population. to create programs and funding to reflect the population in district 10. we know that justification happens because of development, but we know that the city wants to invest in the communi

i raised a family in bayview. and when i went into the construction business there were 150 black contractor and today there are three. let me tell you how that happened, the white people in this city has gone on a journey to run every black person out of san francisco. when the population was 28% black, and today it's less than 6%. i know that a lot of black people have good jobs. and you think that everything will be all right as long as you beg these white people for money. but they are not interested in us as black people and they are not going to do much for you if anything. they have taken all the money out of the programs. they have run every black contractor out of san francisco. and the biggest insult i had today, that i come in here and they have signs in the place, spanish on this side and cantonese on this side. i have lived a lifetime of negro in the black and you know it will be about our color. you see you don't know how white people do us, why we don't have nuthin now. the highest place for black p

we're calling it third on third and this is when the bayview community is going to come alive. community wide art celebration for the whole entire family sponsored by the san francisco arts commission and the public utilities commission, and we've got some really cool activities which include pop-up galleries. we'll have food trucks and get this, everyone, we are also going to have a beer and winegard en, woo-hoo. we have folks in bayview only talking with and a small corner of the bayview merchant quarter. we don't have people talking to the potrero hill association. all of these different fragmented conversations are happening. there largely talking about the same thing, crime, keeping streets clean, businesses, supporting small businesses, maintaining and making sure the city is livable for everyone. no one really looked to their neighbors. they stayed within their neighborhood, but did not reach beyond the boundaries. that is one thing i saw that i actually made a concerted effort on the campaign to build bridges. for me, that goes beyond the neighborhood. it goes to connecting the southeast to the large part of san francisco, wake up, we're out here. we want bike paths, dog parks, open space. we no longer want to have a neighborhood or a reputation of a crime-filled community. the other thing that i learned is really, we are all human. how to connect with that spirit, whether you're living in public housing, owning your own property, your asian, african american, we are all one. we

i am the executive director of bayview hunter's point senior services. i was trying to think of what part of our agency it talk about. i want to talk about the most vulnerable seniors we know. mr. boston said what i needed to say about housing. that's pretty much the deal. our agency sees seniors like him all the time. constantly, consistently looking for housing and can't find it. we need more support services to help people and to help people a app apply. a lot of people don't know where to find housing or where to start. we are trying to focus on that with seniors. and i want to talk about senior exit center, that looks out for ex-offenders. those are the people coming back, relatives and sons and daughters and uncles and aunts that are out of jail and prison and need a place to stay. and we can't find them a place to stay. we can get them transitional housing for three month and then nothing. and lastly i want to talk about the adult center, that serves a lot of vulnerable people. i want to thank the mayor who helped out last year, and we still need

so in the bayview there is a team of young adult professionals called the food guardians who are from the community and actually drive this process and work with the corner stores and work with the corner store owners and do the campaigns and link up the stores more effectively with the faith-based organization, et cetera. they do door hangers to hang in the community for folks to shop in the stores. the second piece is the business side, which i won't say much about, because larry brucia here to speak to that. looking at redesigning the store and freeing up space so produce and other healthy products can be highlighted and works very closely with our food guardians. in the tenderloin there are five leaders who have assessed over 50 stores in looking at ways to improve the offerings at those stores and work with studio. i just started to work with the american grocers association. so i just wanted to say that our idea around this comprehensive approach is to support the small mom and pops while addressing health inequities and strengthening community and promoting economic development
