a dodge county sheriffs sergeant is back on-the-job, into the august fatal shooting of a beaver dam man. justin williams has the latest. its august 5th, dodge 538, 526, copy. check welfare of a suicidal subject. and his friends are receiving disturbing text messages from 53-year-old james quealy. he keeps sending text messages stating he's sorry for what he's about to do ... goodbye. this is very unusual for him. he does have a 32 handgun. beaver dam police officers, along with dodge county sheriffs sergeant joseph nicholas, respond to handgun. he indicated he wished to end his life, suicide by cop. according to a wednesday report, released by the dodge county district attorney, when quealy appears on his apartments balcony, with the weapon, sergeant nicholas 'positioned himself on the rooftop' of a nearby apartment, 'with a .308 rifle with a scope.' some two hours after the initial call, the report reads, 'sergeant quealy turning toward him and leveling his firearm in the sergeants direction.' sergeant nicholas 'delivered a single shot' to quealys face, killing him. following the shoot
