the investigation into bell began in december. he was fired and bar red from all school activities, but more than six months passed before he was ar rested. fox5 a's lindsay watts has been looking into why and has new detai the timeline of this case left us with questions. i was december when investigators say they found out carlos bell, a school aidan track coach sent inappropriate text messages to a student. bell's electronic devices were confiscated and from there he went to the mt crime lab for analysis. it took about five months for the analysis to begin and it wasn't until july that bell was arrest ed, accused of sexually assaulting at least ten boys and making child pornography at the school where he worked. right now behalf approximately 14 cases in the backlog. so that's probably about several months of backlog cases. >> sergeant john linton is assistant commander of the state lab. he says he has just four forensic examiners to handle cases from around the state. many related to child sex crimes . for us isolately we have
