ben carson. he is a trump adviser. dr. carson, good to see you again.hanks so much for joining us. >> always good to be with you, maria. >> so what do you think? i guess it was newt gingrich who told me this past week, he'll probably announce it before the convention. what is the plan, in terms of unveiling who that person is, his vice presidential pick? >> well, you know, right now, he's cogitating, significantly, on who would be the best fit. he's looking for somebody who really loves america, is willing to put forth the requisite effort to try to save it, understands how serious our financial situation is, how serious the activity of the terrorist activities is. you look now, and you're seeing all these activities around the world. and there are sales here in the united states, also, waiting to be activated. and we need somebody who will pursue that with the right kind of seriousness, particularly if something were to happen to the president. you can't, you know, let that linger, languish. >> so is the short list basically who we've been speaking abo

ben carson's speech. peter?bviously, one of the rock stars of the republican and conservative movements here and a headliner for a reason. as we saw after donald trump locked up the nomination today after the roll call of the states which was they made sure was an open process because a lot of the cruz folks wanted to make sure that their votes were recorded. after that we heard speaker after speaker try to accomplish each one of two objectives. we heard from senator -- from governor christie. you heard him laying out, basically, prosecuting the case against hillary clinton. i think that is a road map that we're going to have to, we're going to watch for the fall campaign. he just, he laid it out point by point, and you heard this crowd get fired up with "lock her up, lock her up" and "guilty, guilty" every time he made the prosecutor's case against her. and then second, as governor huckabee was saying, to flush out donald trump's personality. to show that he's, you know, more than just the guy who dominated tho

ben carson who joins us now. on friday when wikileaks released this batch of e-mails, they said this is just part one of our new hillary leaks series. doesn't look like this e-mail scandal, this latest one, is going away. >> no, i think this is just the beginning of it. you know, it's a symptom of a much deeper problem, and that is dishonesty and collusion. there's a proverb that says if a king listens to lies, all his servants will be wicked. basically what it's saying is if you just wink-wink at this stuff, everybody's going to say i can do it, too. we're losing the moral fabric of our country when we ignore things like this. last night during the convention, speaker after speaker, you could see them just glossing over this, oh, this is nothing, it doesn't mean anything. what message is that sending to our children? >> do you apply your analysis to both sides of the fence, democrats and republicans? >> absolutely. one of the things that i discovered during my run for presidency is how corrupt the system is. eve
