but you can tell when the new students are in town here in berkeley. they're all smiles, looking around, taking it all in. some of the parents sad to see their kids moving away from home for the very first time. but this year, more than 6,000 incoming students are going to be living in student housing. today many of them moved in, most of these folks today had the most roommates or are living in suites. they were the ones moving in first. the chancellor greeted students and families at units 1 and 2 as cars lined up to drop off students, their luggage, their bedding, their belongings. uc berkeley is welcoming many out-of-state and international students. this year, though, they're also moving to three weeks of orientation to make the transition smoother to college. we spoke with one student about why he chose cal. >> the first thing is the weather, the second, the perfect -- the excellence and all kinds of different courses and activities. >> he's a very nice guy. he's so talented and brilliant and i hope he can really enjoy life here and learn somethi
