let's get more perspective from our chief meteorologist, bill martin. it's just really cold out there. >> yeah, temperatures below the average. outside we go to the isotherm map. look how it bellies into the delta area, right? and then all of a sudden you hit the valley and there's the heat. you can see the heat shunted to the east. what's gonna change, the heat will move to the west. we'll see upper 80s. the forecast calls for low clouds and fog tonight as we've seep. but the big difference tomorrow, it burns off quickly. today it was slow to burn off. the long-range forecast calls for a slight warmup. it's not gonna get hot but temperatures will feel hot because tomorrow san jose at 81 degrees is a good 10 degrees warmer than it was today. it will feel very warm considering it's been he cool. this low pressure center shouldn't be there. it's been that he. it was there all spring, too. it shifts east. high pressure sets up. that heat starts to come out of the valley. so mid-80s and even upper 80s in the inland bay forecast and you have fog that lingers

let's check in with our chief meteorologist bill martin for the full forecast. bill?> yeah, temperatures below the average really for most of the spring. highs maybe a good 5 degrees below. it's given us nice air quality. things are going to warm up each day as we roll to the weekend. outside we go and the thing i can point out immediately on the satellite image, you can see the fog's cleared from the coast. we haven't been seeing a lot of clearing. but yesterday and then again today we saw some clearing. look at the temperature profile. come in taught here, you can see the -- come in tight here. you can see the heat in the valley. it will start nudging westward. look at sacramento at 87. that's -- that's 10 degrees cool he than you might expect for this time of year. the forecast for antioch will come in real close and antioch has good air quality, not a nasty fire danger. the forecast high for your thursday, just 84 degrees. so the extended forecast calls for some warming but it's a slow warming. so a degree or two each day. fog tomorrow morning, boy, that looks lik

let's check in with chief meteorologist bill martin. >> it does feel a bit like summer than it usually does. temperatures have warmed up a couple of degrees. i'll show you the temperature footprint right now. using colors, you can see the 90s out where you expect the 90s. around the bay, oranges showing up. you have 81 right now in livermore. that's up where it was. highs tomorrow will be a degree or two warmer. these are the official highs from today. 88 in antioch. that's a warm spot. 88 in fairfield. we might see a couple of 90s pop up. still not as hot as you would expect this time of year but warmer. today was so far the warmest day of the week. i think tomorrow will be very similar, saturday and sunday it'll warm up a little bit more. this is not a heat wave. this is not a red flag warning type of event. it's just a little warmer than it has been. temperatures will be a little higher than the average. tomorrow, areas of morning fog but not as much as we've seen. i've been showing you fog footprints going all the way up to the valley. tomorrow burns back, and we have been seeing c

martin has the full forecast, hi, bill. >> it did get warmer today by a few degrees.t'll get warmer tomorrow by a few degrees, then sunday it'll level out. live camera shot now, you see the fog that's going to be persistent, nights and mornings and at the coast. these are the highs today. highs tomorrow will be about the same a little warmer there, there are some 90s finally inland. maybe low 90s, summer weather pattern, that is the weather headline and that means we're looking at plenty of fog right at the coast. warmer on saturday. that's the warmest day. and the extended forecast brings us some cooler weather. upper 90s and even low 100s as you head into the san joaquin valley. fire danger is coming up, air quality dropping off a little bit. along the coast we see low 60s, upper 50s. low 70s out into the east bay. mid-70s hopped over the bill, out toward lafayette. out toward evergreen and portions inland you will find upper 80s. you get the picture. the bay area microclimates in force as we look for at least a 40-degree spread from coast to inland. it has been a w
