joining us now from atlanta, nbc news correspondent blayne alexander.leased and what happened today? >> reporter: well, katy, one of the attorneys for one of the 15 codefendant, admitted he released it. at least he was partially responsible for the release. he released video to at least one media outlet, he said because he felt it would benefit his client and the public needed to see. what this protective order does is it makes it very unlikely we'll see something like this in the future. it came at the request of the district attorney basically saying the videos amounted to witness intimidation. now what judge mcafee says is the d.a. going forward has to label all discovery materials sensitive, and if so, that would be subjected to the protective order. now, defense teams can actually push back against that. they can protest and say they don't believe it should be under the order, in which case, the judge would hear that. certainly provides an extra layer of security. >> what about the witness intimidation? >> witness intimidation in this case is basic
