this business with the board of appeals, taking away the right to go to the board of appeals. let us say your card is suspended for two months. it means s you will not make any money for two months. your only alternative will be to hire a lawyer for $5,000 or $10,000 and take them to superior court? ridiculous. some of these other things, there is a repeal in the tax regulations code that governs the amount that can be charged to somebody who renews their card or permanently. that is a very important protection. i do not know if there is anything else in these rules that would replace that. it has been abused in the past. there was a point at which a notice went out with some ridiculous fee for failure to renew, doubling the fee or who knows what. i call the attention of taxi services to this part of the regulations code and they immediately took back that notice. there is other stuff in here. i have at least a dozen commons i could put in writing. if you are voting today, you are not voting knowledgeably on these items. secretary boomer: [names are called] >> good afternoon.

i staff the parent advisor counsel to the board of education. for people in the room who do not know that, the mission is to provide parent perspectives to inform board of education policy and strength and implementation of district practices. i just want to say also that we really are grateful for your leadership that you have provided in the last few years. i was sitting here thinking, how many superintendents have gone through while i have been doing this work? i think four or five. to repeat something commissioner fewer said, it was not until you came on that people were willing to acknowledge the hard realities. committing to equity has been the underlying value, but it has changed our work to save those are the priorities of our work is devoted to. thank you. we also really appreciate the incoming superintendent of accessibility, and always be willing to try to answer our questions, which i know are relentless. we are trying to do this on behalf of not just our personal children, but all the kids in this district. thank you for your ongoin

for those of us who were not born when he ran for the board of supervisors and who now sit on the board of supervisors today, i think we all know and we would be fools to think we were somehow treading new ground because we are only here because we are on your shoulders, because you did the work and others did the work under incredible challenges and oppression, going through things that those of us in this generation today, it's hard to even imagine. because of that groundwork, we are able to be where we are today and do the work we do for the community. i am so proud to be able to honor you today and i am so proud to see you again. please just know that we love you and we will always be there for you. supervisor olague: i was actually born the year that he ran as the first openly gay candidate for supervisor, and 1961. i just wanted to say that one of the joys of being supervisors, i'm able to honor and think people like you who even though you may get tired of hearing it, if it weren't for the fact that you had the courage to lead the way, many of us would still be stuck in the claus
