this happened near bodega bay. five people were reported in distress in the water near salmon creek. sonoma county officials say four of them were taken to the hospital, and officials say one person died despite efforts to save them. new video shows the rescue operation on the beach near where the victim's boat capsized in strong waves and windy conditions today. chp coast guard and sonoma fire were among the first responders and we just spoke with sonoma county sheriff's office, which is conducting an investigation into the incident. >> while the cause of this one is still under investigation, there's general boater safety that we always recommend. the first is understanding the forecasted conditions. so not just reading the water now and what it looks like, but looking up the conditions and understanding what that water is going to look like later on in the day. because conditions change very rapidly. >> a sonoma county fire official said that the four people who were taken to hospitals were all alert and talking
