brad bell is on the phone en route to the crash. what happened here? brad: a terrible crash. what the maryland state police is at 1:30 this afternoon, a woman with an infant passenger, the woman was driving a car. listen to this. she was going westbound in the eastbound lanes of route 50, the wrong way on the interstate highway and she collided head on with an eastbound vehicle. the force of the crash tremendous. you can see that from the video of the scene. the cars were absolutely mangled. the woman, the driver heading the wrong way sadly, she was pronounced deceased on the scene. the infant in her car was airlifted out. we don't know the exact condition on the chi. flying off of route 50 and down into a wooded area. the person in that car was so terribly trapped the rescue workers had to work for hours to get that person out. that extrication made a short time ago we are told with the help of what is called a "go team" from the university of maryland shock trauma center. these are teams of surgeons and nurses ready to be transported to a scene typically when they need to h

brad bell reports that tomorrow a trial will begin for two firefighters who came to blows in hyatttville. >> a neighbor caught the fire on camera in december of 2015. you can see the firefighters rushing and hear glass breaking as they work to save the house at 75th in lanham. what you can't see the fight prosecutors say happened on the front porch of the house as the volunteer firefighters of the west lanham hills volunteer firefighter tried to claim the fire as their own to put out holding back two paid career firefighters. the allegation is simple. they they countered the volunteers on the front porch. volunteers held out their arms, grabbed them and tried to prevent them from going in to safe the house. the career firefighters who happened to be women called police and an investigation was launched. miller and kelly were charged with second-degree assault interfering with a firefighter and misconduct in office. a neighbor today says if a fight happened at moment like that, it seems just plain wrong. >> it's upset. some people need help. at that point you don't need to be fighting. yo
