brad bell is on the phone en route to the crash. what happened here? brad: a terrible crash. what the maryland state police is at 1:30 this afternoon, a woman with an infant passenger, the woman was driving a car. listen to this. she was going westbound in the eastbound lanes of route 50, the wrong way on the interstate highway and she collided head on with an eastbound vehicle. the force of the crash tremendous. you can see that from the video of the scene. the cars were absolutely mangled. the woman, the driver heading the wrong way sadly, she was pronounced deceased on the scene. the infant in her car was airlifted out. we don't know the exact condition on the chi. flying off of route 50 and down into a wooded area. the person in that car was so terribly trapped the rescue workers had to work for hours to get that person out. that extrication made a short time ago we are told with the help of what is called a "go team" from the university of maryland shock trauma center. these are teams of surgeons and nurses ready to be transported to a scene typically when they need to h
