a southerly breeze at three. that is going to drive our forecast, that southerly breeze for the next couple of days. barometer at 29.82. let me show you what i mean when i say drive the forecast because that southerly breeze we are anywhere from 10 to 25 degrees, depending upon where you are, warmer than at this time yesterday. and i will show that to you and explain in a second. those are your temperatures in those areas. 47 degrees in ocean city. 39 now westminster and bellaire, 37 columbia. those are your temperatures there. look at that 24 degrees warmer in ocean city than yesterday, 21 degrees warmer in cumberland, baltimore 12 than yesterday. through this day a couple of showers passing by west. every once in a while clouds spill over the mountains here into central maryland but the big story is that it is going to be mild today and potentially milder tomorrow. now to by honest yesterday only got 49. it did get into the forecast high of 53 downtown but around the area because of clouds blocking sun we never

for most of us it's a warmer breeze and pushes us up into the mid-50s. just over the virginia line, could see 60. some patchy clouds. quiet across the mid-atlantic states. offshore we are watching an intercoastal situation right off the carolina coast, but the high pressure dome that's in place right now will push any coastal weather out. so we think right now this coastal weather will continue to push further out. we'll stay dry. you see very dry air in place at the surface as well and that certainly is making its presence felt in term ofs of the very dry air. maybe a little extra chap stick in mind, but the bottom line is this has been clear, mild and pleasant and referring back to that potential coastal system as we look at this thing, you can see this does blow up but gets pushed further out thanks to the high pressure sitting off the delmarva coast. normally that would be more of a concern for us but it will not be as it continues to get pushed out. increased clouds on wednesday and perhaps enough moisture to generate some showers, maybe some winter

we'll see more of a westerly breeze. this system is scooting out fast. the low clouds will start to get ramped out. still, overall, nice, just not as warm as yesterday. santa rosa was 70 degrees. just heard from june up in in little min -- up in little mindo county. it was nice up there. 63 today in santa rosa, verses 70. 63 in san francisco yesterday. we'll go 59 today. low clouds on the increase along with a westerly breeze. only dropping it to 2. but the trend is to bring it into sunday. next week, middle of next week, is looking really warm. before we get there, we have to get rid of these clouds. they are already on the way out. napa is down 1. a lot of upper 30s and low 40s. livermore is at 36. one little system is out of here. this system will work its way in by the evening. that will increase the low cloud deck give us a more of a westerly breeze. temperatures come down a little bit. coastal drizzle late tonight, early tomorrow morning. could be light rain. i would say cape mendocino north. temperatures upper 50s

we still have a breeze of wind speeds around 10 to 20 miles an hour. here's a look at the current wind observations, right around fairfield, wind out of the north-northeast around 15 miles an hour. as far as current numbers, 60s showing up. san jose checking in at 62. fair feefld, 61. santa rosa in the lower 60s and san rafael in the upper 50s. the big picture here on the satellite, you can see the clear skies. the activity up here to the north and west. today, high pressure returns and with that a little bit of a breeze and most of the bay area back up into the mid- to upper 60s this afternoon. a few changes for tomorrow as this weak system moves in. it will be strong enough to send in a few extra high clouds and by late friday evening, we did bring in the chance of a very few light sprinkles. the timing, probably late friday night into very early saturday morning. we'll hold onto the chance to saturday. so for tomorrow morning, mostly clear. then we'll take this into the afternoon hours, a few scattered high cloud. by friday night, here we go. a few

not like the weekend though. 8:00 in the morning, some breezes and 5:00 also still chasing a breeze around the future cast, because tonight's showers pulling on out. we'll have sunshine for the day on wednesday. clouds gradually close in again on wednesday night and thursday morning, if we have a little bit of early moisture in the panhandle, it could be a mix. it looks as though the moisture on thursday holds off until the afternoon. so your thursday evening commute might be a little bit wetter than the rest of the day. now on the five-day forecast, we'll show you the next several days on into the weekend and while it looks like saturday is going to be dry, i want to tell you one thing about sunday. sunday there is going to be a storm system probably moving across the deep south. if that were to take a turn and start coming up the coast, it might be cold enough for a little wintery mix. one is the southern rainstorm and one is a coastal that would try to come up the mid atlantic. right now the models don't agree. so let's leave it on for now. that's the way it's been so far this winter. >
