kind of uncanny. 96 today in brentwood. 95 in ukiah. 95 in pleasanton. hohum, that happens when we get an offshore wind. but we have an onshore flow at the coast, 50s there. a 41-degree temperature spread between brentwood and parts of san francisco today. so where is all of that cloud cover coming from? even when it burns off it's just burning off over land. it did today. you got the sunshine in pacifica and in half moon bay but it just moves offshore by a little. and the onshore flow sends it back in. it's coming in over the golden gate right now. we are seeing a huge ridge of high pressure building in which will make about 90 to 95% of california well above average. we are talking temperatures near 100 in the sacramento valley. and even parts of the bay area. but the high pressure ridge isn't right over top of us. it's just off to the west which means just enough of an onshore flow so right near the water, right along the coastline, right in san francisco bay, we will not have a heat wave and temperatures will be anywhere from 30 to 45 degrees cooler
