we're right outside the community here outside brentwood in contra conta county. they are back home here and they could see temperatures close to 110 degrees on sunday. and more fire danger and possibly power outages. firefighters are making headway on those fires and part of the scu complex now which is more than 75% contained and the national weather service warning of excessive and potentially dangerous heat that could last through monday evening. this is not only for this area but wide areas across the bay area and all of northern california. the threat of fire increasing along with the threat of power outages across the region. state electrical grid regulators say we should prepare for outages over the weekend and strains on the grid during the heat wave. pg&e saying they have to follow the orders for curtailment when they're giving mild temperatures also overnight and winds where you're feeling the winds right now. kari has been talking about the winds in her forecast and increasing the fire danger and possibly the need for more of those power outages. keepi

excessive heat warnings are still in effect. 102 in p alto, and 108 in brentwood. there's the excessive heat warning, the heat advisory in effect. these will expire at 9:00 p.m. tonight. tonight is another warm night. limited if any fogg near the coastline. temperatures again in the 60s and 70s, but are concerned overnight, will be the increasing offshore wind. the red flag warning will go into effect. beginning at 10:00 a.m. tuesday for the santa cruz mountains as the offshore winds develop, we've seen this pattern before, you've had those dry winds that drop humidity levels, it can really start any fires quickly, and they can spread rapidly. a closer look at these winds. they're gusty in the north bay especially. that's where we do find the highest risk over tuesday. we'll be in the north bay as the winds gust over 30 miles per hour. we take a look at the fire danger index, this looks at how strong the winds are, how warm the temperatures are, and how low the humidity is. as we add c alockcedv into early tomorrow morning, 7:00 a.m., you can see high to extreme fi
