this is caltrans. they showed cracks across the road. emergency services is also reporting widespread damage to homes and roads specifically in eel river valley. we are at the scene of the damaged bridge. >> a very scary situation for those on the north coast. the earthquake came in after 2:30 and jolted many of us awake who were just completely asleep and i wanted to show you the damage we have seen. we are in fernbridge and this is kind of the main thoroughfare into the town of ferndale. you can see caltrans has this blocked off to traffic and given this is the main thoroughfare into ferndale, it definitely , you know, a very noticeable impact to the community. crews are out here, continuing to inspect the damage. pg&e has reported that 55,000 customers are currently without power. as we were driving from arcata to fernbridge, there were basically no businesses, very few businesses that still have their power remaining and just lots of calls of people without power. and there is no tsunami according to the humboldt county sheriff's off
