finally, a very quick word about french catholics and dating websites. florence: one particular website, very popular here in france, which encourages extramarital affairs. it has more than one million members. very popular among a certain crowd, but very unpopular among the french catholics. a group of french catholics is suing gleeden for openly encouraging people to break their marriage vows. it is interesting to note that adultery has not been illegal in france since 1975. it is unclear how successful these catholics will be, but they did manage to make gleeden take down some advertising in several parts of the country around paris, except for in the paris metro which is holding its ground.

little has been heard from american catholic clerics.cardinal dolan in new york city wrote an op-ed post but we've seen very, very little. what do you think is going on here? >> well, cardinal wuerl in washington discussed the plight of our christian brothers and sisters in the middle east and, of course, in strong terms condemned the horrible killings and christians. i'm not sure what the priests are supposed to do you know as they give their homilies this weekend. i know you're asking them to speak out on this. what i think has to happen and speak to the catholic church is we need more people in the pews. you have to instruct people in the faith your own faith. so there's not a vacuum that's created in this country or as we've seen a vacuum created in europe as we've seen the decline of christianity. so i think priests should be priests. they should take care of the flock, the faithful. get more people to come into the church and explain why their christianity is superior to other faiths, not to condemn other faiths but, you know -- >>

this is one of the high schools -- one of the catholic high schools impacted by the morality clauses. san francisco's archbishop has a plan to add those morality clauses into upcoming teacher union contracts. they call for teachers to live by church teachings at school and in their private lives. the teachings include the church's opposition to abortion, contraception and homosexuality among other things. state assemblyman kevin mullin of san mateo and phil ting of san francisco say the clauses set a bad precedent for workers rights. they want an investigation into working conditions at the four catholic high schools in the san francisco archdiocese to see if the requirements violate state discrimination laws. this is the latest public outcry after many students and teachers got together last week to unite against the catholic church. >> we're here today because if jesus were alive today he would be standing right next to us. >> reporter: last week, san francisco's archbishop fired back at state lawmakers who criticized him in a letter, he wrote, "i respect your right to employ or not
