nancy chen, 7 news. >> christa: all right, nancy. thank you. we continue to get a live look at the street where this all happened and where it all started. we have a lot of questions still about the investigation. >> sarah: cheryl fiandaca is live at the breaking news desk >> reporter: we know a little bit more about the suspect in this case. he is now 27 years old. he was arrested in 2005 on gun charges. and he was just 17 at that time. the commissioner said he was arrested on other gun charges and spent some time in jail. he was recently released in april. and is currently on probation. now, in this case, the plain-clothed officers who knew who this guy was stopped him because they knew he had a suspended license. when they stopped the car, he got out and ran. that is when he shot at the police officer. that officer shot in the leg. other officers ran after him and caught him. now, sources tell me they put him in the cruiser where he tried to get out of his handcuffs and tried to escape from the back of the police cruiser. he was now transpor
