making its way out not mouth of the day in the chesapeake bay and looks like it will stretch across south eastern portions of the state in maryland and virginia. so still a little bit of activity down there we're kind of keeping an eye on. but that shouldn't effect us. still a line of showers and thunderstorms firing up west of harrisburg and around the suburbs of pittsburgh. so we'll continue to watch that a little bit. there's still a chance for us to get shower and thunderstorm activity later tonight. look at all the lightning data to the north along the turn pike in pennsylvania. a lot of lightning there and down to the south with these line of thunderstorms making their way across the bay. it looks like things are still quiet but there's still that chance for popup showers as we get into the overnight. getting up to 86 degrees, this is out at thursday god marshal bwi airport. precipitation look at that, 15/100ths of an inch out there at bwi eurbgs and looking at the inner harbor about a quarter of an inch of rain. looking at 78 right now in d.c. we'll continue those chances for scatt

monitoring the status of hurricane bill, which is affecting the surf on the eastern shore and the chesapeake bay. hurricane bill passed bermuda with a glancing blow today. even though the storm is not expected to make u.s. landfall, the east coast is still feeling the effects. we have the latest. >> on the island of bermuda, hurricane bill whipped up wind dancer. -- wind and surf. dangerous waves were making their way to the u.s. mainland from massachusetts to florida. the swells are high this weekend and potentially deadly. >> this particular storm, we are worried about high speeds. we do not think the winds will exceed 35 miles per hour. >> parts of the coast could see tropical storm-force winds but the biggest issue is likely to be rip currents, which could quickly pull swimmers away from shore. >> the more water coming to the beach, the strong recurrent going out from the beach into deeper water. >> many beaches are closed to swimmers today. >> if you see the red flags, do not swim there. we are advising people to stay out of the water until the weekend is over. >> like ours could not keep e
